Having watched tonights game Ed's do you think Lewis or Ki-Jana Hoever can provide the full back cover, or we still sign one?

{Ed001's Note - I haven't watched it so can't answer that.}

Thought both did ok but it was tranmere and that does not tell a lot.

Larouci had a good game as well. Hope to see more of them throughout pre-season.

Even though it was Tranmere the physicality of their player showed against some of our younger players, I felt that Hoever handled it best of all personally, really good prospect that kid is should be knocking on the door of having some bench time if Clyne moves on.

Sorry, Lewis is no where near ready.

Don’t think you can read too much into pre season games.

It’s just about getting fitness levels up.

Remember when Voronin looked a world beater in pre season?

Just don’t want bad injuries to anyone

Pre season is great chance for the Ox but think it might be after Christmas before he is back to his best.

The key is not to perform well in some games. and fading at the rest. they are still kids. let's let them develop at their own pace. klopp knows better than us anyway!

Hoever looks a player. Strong, quick, good on the ball. I could definitely see him filling in at right back.
On last night’s evidence I’d prefer Larouci to Lewis at left back.

Yeah Larouchi was great in the first half. Although he didn't have much to stop him, but promising none the less. Very young like Hoever but we do have options there.

This is why the Firpo rumours are so preposterous for example, if we sign fullback cover it'll be someone who can play both sides, won't break the bank and won't block the youngsters path, like Kenny Lala.

Do you think that signing is dependant on Clyne leaving?

Larouci had acres and acres of space to run into with the ball, so of course he looked good. He has undeniable potential, but needs development defensively. At present, Lewis is better, and I don't think even he is ready for the top flight.

I agree aray. Lewis looks stronger, he is bigger. But his final ball was pretty poor. He showed good hunger to win the ball back.
