Larouci looks very promising.

11 Jul 2019 20:21:41
Brewster is a hungry goal machine in the making, no fear just wants too score goals, he is filling out also, very happy with him early days but I like wat I see, like a young ian wright.

3-0 Half Time Clyne scored first top corner shot from 18 yards, Brewster who has grown and put on "Beef" has scored the other two, both poachers goals and as hailstones above has posted Larouci best player for the reds. (no wonder Moreno went)

Thought the Referee was supposed to be neutral it is Mike Deane whose favourite team is the Rovers? Big Crowd there, new kit looks nice.

LFC TV have not yet posted team for second half. Fabhino has been warming up thought he was with Brazil in Confederations Cup?

4.) 11 Jul 2019
11 Jul 2019 20:34:43
LFC TV have just posted team for second half as follows.

JAROS in Goal, hoever, matip, johnston, lewis, fabhino, woodburn, jones, glatzel, duncan, Origi. I believe the most popular name for a boy according to Liverpool Maternity Hospital this summer so far is DIVOCK?

Second Half Underway.

If these youngsters perform like this consistently against better opposition then we don't need too buy anyone .

{Ed025's Note - hello....its tranmere..

Cheers double O7. Keep us updated please pal.

I know ed, tranmere are shxte, but if they perform as well against better teams we will face it is very encouraging .

{Ed025's Note - pre-season friendlies dont count for much one way or the other hailstones, but playing alongside senior players can certainly do no harm mate..

11 Jul 2019 21:22:23
Best player in the first half was Larouci or Brewster. Best in the second was Hoever or Woodburn. We need full back cover, an attacking midfielder and a versatile attacker right? 🤔.

11 Jul 2019 21:24:51
I am thinking if Adam lewis, larouci can hack it, also Jan hoever that's lots of cover for full back options also think woodburn finally looked like a proper midfielder his use of the ball an energy was good tonight an he looks too have filled out a bit, I ain't getting carried away very early days .

It was a good run out for the lads. Of course just a pre season friendly (and the first pre season friendly) so we shouldn’t really rate performances: but I’ll do it anyway since we are so short of any match or transfer action :)
1. Good run out for Rhian, can only do his confidence a world of good after the injury
2. Larouci looked like a new Moreno - very good and comfortable going forward, suspect at the back
3. Curtis Jones and Woodburn showing good vision, need to wait and see if either of them can step on. Really hope Woodburn can recover from last season - he kept trying the same ball again and again today
4. Pity about Glatzels injury. Thought he was much more influential than Bobby Duncan while he was on
5. Wilson’s quality of passing was apparent but Ryan Kent showed why he had such a good season in Scotland with a great work rate
6. The other centre half for 2nd half (not Matip) looked well out of his depth
7. Good to see Origi, Lallana and Ox all getting minutes early in pre season. Will help us with options as the season kicks on
8. Hoever was an absolute beast. People are talking about Rhian beefing up but I felt Howver looked much bigger, faster and efficient than what I remembered of him from last season. Didn’t see him cross much but the rest of his game play from right back was inspiring.

6-0 Final Score, scorers second half jones, divock and duncan, divock was captain for second half and scored best goal of the game from a long ball from matip.

Only concern Glatzel went off 15 mins from end as a precaution with a knock to his knee, and because we never had any more outfield subs to replace glatzel the third goalie atherton had to play centre forward for last 15 mins.

On to Bradford now Sunday Afternoon for next friendly fixture.

P. S. Please Stop Goading Ed025 he does not deserve it, he always gives a balanced point of view, after all this is a banter site not bash the Eds Site.

{Ed025's Note - thanks 007 ...but im a big boy and can look after myself mate, its all friendly banter and no different to what happens when i go out with my red mates, yes im out of the closet...some of my friends are reds...i thought i would admit to chicken molestation before i admitted that.. :)

A lot of talk a few months back about Lewis coming in for Moreno but he doesn’t look anywhere near ready to me.

That's how to play pre season against lower class opposition. Beat them 6-0.
It breeds a feel good factor for the games to come.
Drawing 1-1 against Kariobangi Sharks would not be acceptable.

{Ed025's Note - we actually got beat on pens langland, but pre season means nothing mate and is more about fitness and team building than the actual result..

The "Klopp-Father" has just come out with the Quip of the Season, He said "we looked at the tranmere lads when they were warming up, and if it had been a boxing contest it would of been a walkover for tranmere".

A new banner on view tonight "the futures bright, the futures Brewster".

P. S. The pump house on the albert dock has put his prices up, its now £3.79 for breakfast. Fish and Chips now £11.99 and big fish and chips £13.99, and the C--- has put me pint of Guinness up to £3.70, still worth going in though the barmaids have the X-Factor, was talking to an aussie named Pete from Melbourne in there on Monday who was 48 and it was always on his bucket list to visit Anfield and happily he fulfilled that wish, though the downside for him was that he had visited England to watch the aussie cricket team play england at cricket and sadly they got beat today! And for anyone named Peter he had his picture taken over the street named "Peter Street" which is in liverpool city centre just after victoria street.

Ed025 is right pre season is all about fitness and not about results so never read to much into them. As I recall Liverpool has a unbelievable pre season under Souness enough said. Ed025 is well and truly able to take it and very well able to dish it out.

{Ed025's Note - very true on all counts barry mate..

16.) 11 Jul 2019
11 Jul 2019 22:05:44
It's good to see the youngsters taking part in preseason.

17.) 11 Jul 2019
11 Jul 2019 22:19:39
I can recall Sir Bob Paisley not winning ONE pre-season game one year and that season culminated in his Third and last European Cup Final Win, he always said what Ed025 posts above its all about fitness not results in pre season.

{Ed025's Note - your spot on mate..

Agree about Nasser Larouci. he gave a mature, composed performance tonight. Good awareness and plenty of speed.
Definitely one to watch.

Ffs it’s just one pre season game and people are jumping to conclusions 🙈 if Klopp makes a decision to keep or sell a player on tonight’s performance then he should be sacked lol
Didn’t Everton win a game by 30 goals last year if I remember correctly in pre season 🤔.

Its the first time the boys have run out since madrid. Of course we are going to debate it. Of course its only a friendly, against poor opposition, but you'd have to be blind to not be excited by young brewster. Looks a much better player than solanke. Took his chances really well. he's bigger than he was when england won the wc u18s. Still, solanke acored more in pre season than he did all season so.

We look to have some real talent coming through. And with a really strong first team the future does seem promising.

I was surprised at how our youngsters lookwd physically. Players like brewster and Woodburn have really come on.

Sorry have to disagree when people say it's just a friendly etc. For players such as Fabinho and Milner, yes it's just about getting their fitness levels up, but for players such as Lewis, Woodburn and Wilson it's far more important for both themselves and Klopp. This is their big chance to force their way into consideration for the forthcoming season and for Klopp he can give him more of an idea if he needs to dip his toes into the transfer market or not. For these players, preseason performance is very important.

And the game has somewhat changed since Paisley's day, it's much more a squad game now. Making sure you have the right squad players is vital.

Honestly I'd never seen larouci before but he is not a full back.

If he played at full back in any first team game he would straight away be targeted.

Zero positional sense and tracked the ball randomly in to midfield leaving huge gaps down the left.

Obviously not exposed against Tranmere and he can learn these skills. Does have great willingness to get forward though and looks much more set up to be a winger rather than fullback.

12 Jul 2019 10:29:34
threeps - yeah important for the kids. but for Klopp and co they won't be carried away unless something outstanding happens as well as in the training paddock. the kids need to play so chances are they playing for loans moves really.

Let's be realistic here about the young lads. Laroucci looks lively, he was only used for u18 though and his first season played at LB. A season of consistency at u23 would be his next expectation if Lewis is loaned or possibly used as LB cover.

Jones and Woodburn are so far down the pecking order in their positions, u23 or loans.

What pleased me most was the clear difference in Hoevers physique, looked imposing, Brewster too didn't look like a boy anymore. Duncan and glatzel need at least another year. Kent and Wilson at 22/ 23 best to move on.
