Question for Ed1 if you have the time. In the past you've mentioned players you would like the club to pursue, even if it's very unlikely (Sule and Medel come to mind) . Are there any other players you are a fan of and dream of the club going after?

{Ed001's Note - honestly no. At one time it was easy to pick holes in the team and see players that would improve it. Not any more. There are some quality players who would he useful additions but no dream signings right now. There does seem a lack of really outstanding quality players right now.}

Actually I take that back, someone just mentioned Saul Niguez, now him I would take in a heartbeat!

I think Saul is one of the best CM around, can read the game so well.

{Ed001's Note - he is a fantastic player and would be the perfect replacement for Milner when the time comes. He has that same utility value, workrate and ability that Millie possesses but with probably a bit more quality.}

Just have a feeling Houseem Aouar could well be our next midfield signing, just not this summer. Possibly the Milner replacement (albeit completely different players) .

I agree with the above aouar would be great signing but would be a bit too early too get him, personally I think bruno Fernandes is the one that will get away he has everything we need .

I stand by it will be a player currently at the African nations cup
dream player for me would be Dembele from Barcelona I feel he would rip the premiership apart under klopp's management.

For me it would be DeBruyne. Think there is one space in our midfield that Keita hasn't made his own. The other two midfield spaces taken by Fab and Hendo / Wij.

Hopefully next season we will see Keita or Ox make that number 8 (slightly more attacking) role their own.

Dembele is French Johncrow mate.

I honestly can't wait for Ox to get back into full flow!

Is it a lack of high class players? Or is it that our level of class has risen so much as our team has progressed? So potential signings no longer seem so important.

Agreed jtaylor. Fans always forget players ability when they're out for a season. The ox was absolutely brilliant in his first season. As usual it took a while before he was starting (not as long as some, maybe because there was no language barrier) people have been calling for an attacking mid, someone who can pick out nice passes, someone who can burst forward with the ball and score goals, both from distance and inside the box. That Aoc in a nutshell. can't wait to see him in the same team as fabhino.

Out of interest- who do the eds and reds think is the better passer of the ball: Hendo or Fab?

I think henderson just about tops fab in that regard.

I would think a bit of both in my view. 2 years ago the was hard to think of arguably having the best GK and CB in the world along with 2 prolific wide players winning the golden boot. One of the best LB around and trent and gomez up there as the best progressed CB and and RB for their age. Fabinho in the top 3 in his position too.

But also the fact after Messi and Ronaldo, the guys like neymar, dembele, pogba, bale, coutinho, lukaku were all the hottest properties in past transfer windows and were all being touted to be the next best in their positions. Most of those have only played with world class form for a short period just a season or 2. Mbappe looks like the guy most expected to be the next to maybe win a few ballon dors. But I do feel this generation after Messi and Ronaldo might be slack in players being iconically remembered. The puskas, peles, maradonna, cruyff, di Stefano, beckenbauher, zidane, eusabio, Brazilian Ronaldo. I can't see any current players being remembered like those are for years in today's crop, I know that can change easily over a few years but currently so many footballers are getting way too hyped up.

I know he is french Shaq the post said who you think and your dream would be, they don't have to be the same choice do they
or was I mistaken?

In terms of world class midfielders under 30 I can only think of Kante, Niguez, De Bruyne and Fabinho off the top of my head.

I get ya johncrow. You were making a statement (player we want is at Afcom) then answering a question (dream signing)

And i agree, Dembele would rock at liverpool imo. I think mane and salah are both better but there wouldn't be much of a drop in quality if dembele started in front of them.

Id take gareth Bale as my dream signing. Or Mbappe. Bale is more versatile though. The guy can play in just about any position. Gets goals no matter where he plays. I don't think going to madrid was the best move for a lad who comes across as humble and quiet.

I don't follow Spanish football much. Has Bale been starting more since Cr7 left? And does the signing of Hazard effect Bales chances of playing?

A healthy De Bruyne would be my number one choice. Love him as a player. Saul as a close second.

KDB if fit is awesome as you say.

How can you say Fabinho is world class? How can you put him in the same conversation as Kante and KDB?

Going to Madrid not the best move for Bale! He’s won 4 champions league medals, he’s paid at least £300k a week and spends most of his life on the golf course when not playing football

Zielinski, Isco or Asenio for midfield anyone?

Mark, in my honest opinion Fabinho's been the best holding midfielder in world football for 2 years.

People are scared to admit how good our team is because they're not used to it. Arguably; Alisson is the best keeper, Trent is the best right back, Virgil is the best centre back, Robbo is the best left back, Fabinho is the best defensive midfielder, and Salah is the best right forward. Arguably of course, as it's subjective. I wouldn't swap any of those players for anyone else in world football.

Nobody would dispute these claims if I was talking about another team who had just claimed 97 points and the biggest prize in club football. I don't know why there is this fear to admit how good we are.
