Don't agree we don't need to spend to bring in another front 3 attacker. Whilst I agree Origi made a massive contribution in the last half of the season he is not a first team regular and Brewster hasn't even really played first team football. We need real competition for the front 3 somebody who is at the same level as those 3. We are playing in the charity shield, super cup, world club championship, and cl, pl, . fa cup, league cup, and most of our players will be playing international matches. You cannot expect the front 3 to play in every one of those. Putting out the reserves in the . ca and league cup will result in us being knocked out as last season proved.

Kinda agree with your saying Alwaysred. I’m sure we will bring a few in mate but not at the 60-80M figure more likely 20-30M youngsters that Klopp can work on to improve. Expect Brewster and Origi to rotate and get more game time next season.

I think what the Edd's have been eluding to is that it's hard to bring in someone of the same level as our front 3 (world class) just to have him sit on the bench for large parts of the season. Someone of that caliber will not be cheap so how do A. Justify an 80million plus bench player, B. convince that player he'll get more than 30 EPL games C. Keep that player happy on the bench. No club in the EPL have that bar City and even those players want to leave for lack of game time.

Let's not forget that last season was really the first full season klopp had with origi, and while he won't really improve his technical ability, he definitely looked like he was playing the way klopp wants his players to play, full of desire and hard work. Origi, Brewster, Shaq and one more younger player would do me for backup. The more games they play, the better they'll perform and not be so rusty when they're called upon.

I agree with the OP and would disagree slightly with Zep and Virg.

We keep calling this 4th attacker a ‘bench option’ which makes me think of Mike Hooper who got around 15 games in the 2 centuries he seemed to be on our bench 😂

Instead, I see this person as a viable, feasible rotation option.

Let’s assume we continue to play 433, so we have 3 front players who are Firmino, Salah and Mane

If we end up playing 60 games next season, that’s 180 games for the front 3.

There will be injuries, loss of form and tiredness, so I think 40-45 games each is about right, which would leave around another 50ish games for other options to take. Currently, we have Origi, who has scored some massively important goals but also not bossed games, Brewster, who looks a great talent but is unproven as yet, and Shaqiri who has been inconsistent. I see Ox and Lallana as playing from midfield rather than covering the wingers.

One more forward in that mix, like Pèpè, shouldn’t upset the apple cart. There’s plenty of games to go round, and as someone else mentioned yesterday, there’s no smoke without fire re Salah, and having someone else ready to take his place, having already spent time at the club is a good thing.

I don’t think we will get more than one forward (without departures) but I reckon we will get one, who had the flexibility to play across the front 3.

I my humble opinion I think Origi is about to start to boss games. The confidence he should have now, to go along with all his physical tools and talent, make me believe he will take a massive leap forward. Also Klopp clearly loves the lad. I won't be surprised if he starts scoring for fun.

Very very difficult to find the right player Always red. If we kept the same squad with full back additions I do worry who replaces one of the 3. This year we had our bad patch and Origi wasn't trusted to replace Salah or Firmino who were clearly having a bad time.

We can't though just add an expensive player to sit on the bench and wait for an injury or loss of form. Maybe Fekir will still be an option. He can cover and they could all play together.

A question to consider is will the front 3 improve if the players pushing them are Origi and another 20 to 30 mill player (which buys very little in this day) or will they improve with another player of equal calibre to them joins knowing they maintain form or they get a rest on the bench? There is also the fact that all 3 had poor spells during the season and really only sturridge was used in their place and he was very ineffectual. Now he is gone maybe Origi gets more minutes but will Klopp continue to play the front 3 hoping they regain form or will he use Origi.

If I'm honest I would think that had sturridge shown any signs of being a footballer during his starts and substitutions then he, not Origi, would have come on in final.
In my opinion I think competition needs to bought for the front 3, and let the 4 players fight for the 3 places, plenty of other competitions and injuries should see Origi and Brewster get games especially if we treat the domestic cups with a little more respect.

Zeddicos you are missing the point though slightly with that pepe example. Of course we all want to best players, but the problem is we can't just say ok here's 70mil now we have pepe. A player like him won't agree to join us. Yes he might get game time but he also realistically mightnt. First game of season he would be on bench. Salah and mane start in good form. 10 games in and they still performing well. Pepe would be helpless. Mane and salah have been undroppable for 95% of the last 2 years, we can't expect that pepe would be obliged to minutes. Even origi as first choice back up this season only played like 800 mins or something.
