Hey ed001 hope all is well. I'm reading Leroy Roseniors book at the moment and one part reminded me so much of a recent player of ours? He's saying how much it infuriates him watching Premier League strikers not able to make the right sort of runs. Couldn't help think of a few seasons back I was at Anfield and Benteke would be starting and being so frustrated how static and uninterested he was. Do you have any thoughts on him from the time?

{Ed001's Note - that is my thoughts, he would be constantly stood around on the edge of the box watching when a cross was put in. I just wanted someone to have a word and tell the lazy **** to get his arse in the box and be on the end of them.}

Spot on, Bledd85 and Ed. Benteke is super talented BUT you wouldn't know it with the feckless, lazy way he played for us and has been playing for Palace since he moved there. I remember a game vs West Brom at Anfield where the ball was out wide and Benteke literally stood behind one of their CB's in the box waiting for the cross to come instead of trying to lose his marker and get into position to anticipate and attack the cross.

Ed01, I also remember another game at Palace where Emre Can had the ball and was about to swing one in. He looked up and saw that Benteke was just you guessed it, standing there like a lamp post. Can you believe that Can had to literally point a couple of times to Benteke, motioning him to move his arse into position for the cross? As a former CF at amateur level, I could not believe what I was seeing cos I mean, these are the basics of CF play. It was at that point that I knew it was time to cut bait with him and it has been one of the many great decisions Klopp ever made as LFC manager.

{Ed001's Note - I can believe that, he is still doing it with Palace.}

Funnily enough Wolf it was against Palace I really noticed it. We lost 2-1 if i remember correctly and me and my mate couldn't believe how static he was. Professional footballer just stood there in between centre halves not even attempting a run. Was incredible to see.
