Anyone who thinks of slating matip again should be ashamed of themselves, the guy has been brilliant for us tonight he was awesome, and in my opinion has had a very good season, might not be the best in the squad but he is a vital player in this team!

I have been saying this for ages!

{Ed0333's Note - I think he deserves his place in the final. Would be a travesty If either lovren or Gomes played instead of him. He has got progressively better over the last few games but let’s not lose sight of the fact he’s got a clanger or two in him when not switched on.

OP, I have been a Matip critic and rightfully so IMO cos he makes mistakes and goes walk-about during games leaving VVD to cover for him all the time.

That said, he had a blinder today and deserves credit. He has improved since he has been playing consistently so he deserves to play in the final. As Ed said, he still has a mistake or two in him, just like ALL of our CB's do (VVD has a clanger of a game in the first leg too) so I hope he can push on from here.
