So no Bobby, not even on the bench.

Why we even risked him against Barcelona is a strange one.

Can’t work it out to be honest. Fit for the bench in Barca, plays less than 20 mins and is out for this make or break game.

hmmm maybe klopp actually knows more about the situation than us.

Sly have said he might be out for the season.

or klopp thinks we could handle newcastle without him so he can be match fit for barca. If he's out for the season then it was dumb bringing him on against Barcelona and would have made more sense to bring ox instead.

Everyone who’s been desperate to offload Big Div all season need to remember this lad has a happy knack of getting crucial goals at crucial times.
A very rare talent!
We need to keep him 👍.

He would of been passed fit by the medical team for Wednesday, but maybe he tweaked something else.
Ideally it’s klopp keeping an ace up his sleeve but think that’s unlikely.

Back up striker and can play on the wing. agree Ron, Origi needs to stay.

Martin Tyler in commentary said " Roberto Firmino was rushed back at a cost on Wednesday night and doesn't feature tonight"
At what cost?

forget what martin tyler said. most of the posters here were clamoring for bobby no matter how unfit he was. Its happened, it's football, it's small minded to be trying to point the finger here.

Origi has scored two goals at critical times this season. And has little playing time agreed but.

He has not played all that well and for me at least, is not of the standard we need as a backup. He is just not good enough which is why klopp doesn't use him more.

I support all our squad but I just don't agree with all those so determined to keep him at the club. I can't imagine if he was at another club we would be looking to buy him! and doubt there are many prem teams looking to him as an option.

we should let him go and make a career somewhere else. with regular game time he might do okay.

Beddoerocks, you are judging Origi on a higher bar which is super unfair. You say that he has not had enuff game time YET you say he has not played all that well. That is a dishonest argument to make. Why? You need to be playing consistently in order to be sharp and then, you can be judged on your body of work. Origi can't get game time due to the form of our front 3, just as Iago Aspas (brilliant footballer) could not get game time with Suarez/ Studge wrecking it.

Origi has come on and done the business for the most part mainly due to his attitude and mentality. He does NOT sulk, whine, complain or moan about not playing enuff. Whenever he comes on late in games. He gives his all and is SUPER concentrated and switched on. If he wasn't, how do you think he scores late goals? Now should he b kept? I personally, would keep him BUT if he wants to leave then good luck to him. It's up to him now.

I don't think Origi will be kept on the strength of those two goals.
Surely it'll depend on if anyone shows interest in him and if he wants that move. I don't think he'll be offered a new contract though.

Origi reminds me of our david super sub fairclough, he use to come of the bench and score important goals for us. play him for 90 mins and more often didn't do much, but bring him on and boom score a goal, maybe origi our new super sub.

I think you’re spot on Wolf and Scousetim.

Origi has the best attitude of a fringe player I’ve ever seen. He seems to love the role. He’s a genuine team player.
If Firmino gets a long term injury, I think Origi would struggle to replace him so we need someone like Brewster to help out.
For me Origi has a superb team ethic and a never say die attitude. These traits are just as important as dribbling ability and ball control.

Can't agree more, Ron. Little story for you. After Origi scored the winner vs Everton, he was asked after the game what Klopp told him before coming on. Origi said Klopp told him to "Play the way you train". I was gob-smacked. Why? It meant that Origi (despite not playing a single minute of PL footie till then), had ALWAYS given his all in training. Never sulked, moaned, nor let his head drop when he was not being picked. He kept working hard and Klopp kept him on side and Origi knew his chance would come.

Then he came on vs Everton in a high-pressure game and what did he do? Origi created a chance, hit the post and scored the winner all in 8 minutes of football. Many say his goal was lucky. Sorry, it was not. Luck is often defined as "When preparation meets opportunity". The Anfield Flapper a. k. a Pick ford offered the "opportunity" and Origi always been "prepared" for weeks to take any opportunity and he was switched on, never gave up on the play and took his opportunity. The rest is history.
