If your about Ed01, who would you pick to partner Virgil tomorrow? Would you risk Gomez or lovren who aren't match fit or play matip who has been poor lately?

{Ed001's Note - I would go with whichever of them is fitter and have the other on the bench.}

I think go with matip. We should be able to handle porto at home. Give gomez and lovren a bit more time to get match fit. Especially joe gomez. He has so much potential, it would be awful if he niggled the injury. We haven't lost a game with matip in the team, im not as worried as some about his performances.

If lovren is totally match fit i would consider him though.

You only get match fit by playing matches tho. It’s as good a game to give Gomez minutes as any.

Matip all day long. He’s much maligned from some quarters but he’s done us proud thus far. I’d keep him in until Gomez is ready.

Tough one for me but I think I would stick with Matip at home and all going well give Joe some minutes late in the match.

Start Trent and Matip then let Gomez get 20-30mins under his belt as a sub late on, either at CB or RB depending on how the games going.

Klopp has said that joe is 2 weeks away from playing. I think it’s time lovren come back in.

Klopp has said Gomez won’t be playing and is still 1-2 weeks away from a return to full fitness. I would go with Matip for consistency. Lovrens likely to be rusty and I think we should go for it tonight and hopefully get a decent lead and then Lovren can play in the second leg.

I would play Gomez at Left back, not as taxing as playing centre half and leaves Milner to play midfield if need be. Gets Gomez minutes on the pitch which he needs to get up to speed.

I don't think tonights game is going to be as easy as some think. We didn't beat porto at home last season. It was a nil nil i think. I think porto will be super cagey and will pose a threat on the break. If we concede it could make the away game very tricky.

I just hope the boys blow them away in the first half hour, 2,3 up so we can relax and enjoy the game.

Im also worrying that moreno gets the nod because he could be the chink that allows porto an away goal.

But, i have a feeling salah is going to shine tonight. His goal against Southampton was SUBLIME. i've been surprised that the goal hasn't been celebrated that much in the media and among us fans. It was un real. 2 defenders on him, another closing in and he dinked it, with power, into the bottom corner. The only place he could put the ball from his position and the positioning of the defenders and gk.

I admit, i had started to feel last season was a fluke, but that goal was from the very top draw. If it was mbappe it would be shown in montages all year. Amazing player and i think him and mane will both score tonight. One fpr bobby too would be great. He is another one who usually shines in the champions league.
