ED001

Hope all is well!

Past few seasons I've been asking you with players we've legitimately been linked with that you'd hope we sign.
I recall you mentioned VVD when that didn't happen it was heart breaking then in Jan it happened.
Following market I asked and you mentioned you hoped we bring in Alisson but wasn't convinced and prayed :) LOL.
Then we got him!

I would like to know this time who it is?
As both of the players were my main priority you mentioned previously also.

I would like a number 10 straight into the starting line up but not sure who we're linked with that would rocks my socks off, otherwise Werner would be good in my eyes but can't see where he would start, more as cover and swap with fermino, but I'm sure Werner wouldn't want that.

Any-who? Who's the player this time around, let's hope it comes in 3s?

{Ed001's Note - I am torn between 2 - Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ryan Sessegnon. It is the full back position we most need strengthening, with no real cover for our first choice one and either of those could cover there, but both can also play further forward when needed.

In fact, thinking about it, I am going to say Sessegnon. He would allow us to swap to the formation with 4 attacking players very easily, replacing Shaqiri from it, but without sacrificing protection for the full-backs, like we have to when Shaqiri is in the team. He would slot in on the left, Mane and Salah then have the right and up top covered with Bobby in behind.}

Are either available eds?
Also is there any truth in Moreno going to Italy (I can’t remember what team sorry)

{Ed001's Note - Palace have no interest in selling Wan-Bissaka, so it would be if the lad himself forced a move he would leave but he is unlikely to do so according to those that know him. He is also being advised to stay put for at least one more season to get playing time. It has to be remembered he is, like Trent, fairly new to the right-back position, so another learning season would do him good.

As for Sessegnon, there is a very good chance he will leave in the summer when they go down. He is unhappy with his lack of playing time this season, as he turned down good offers to go elsewhere in the summer to help Fulham out.}

Sessegnon would be a fantastic addition to the squad as would Wan Bissaka, if we got either in the summer I'd be delighted.

Was just thinking about Jadon Sancho whilst reading the Eds comments. Why would a youngster risk so much to leave their current club when their playing career is going so well. Even in the short career of a professional sportsman, there is a short term v long term approach.

I'd go for Sessegnon and one of Brandt/ Bruno Fernandes. That is quality depth for the likes of Robbo, Mane and OX. Those 2 signings should be our priority this season.
We can always hold off signing a new CB as we already have four senior ones and with Brewster set to get a look in and Origi back in Klopp's plans, we may not be signing a forward or a RB regardless.

AWB would provide a genuine threat to TAA at right back I think.

Wan-Bissaka, for me, over Sessegnon.
I see Trent's position in midfield, in the future, leaving a space at right back. I cannot envisage Sessegnon wanting to come to play second fiddle to Robertson.
I remember both me and Ed001 raving about Wan-Bissaka before anyone else really mentioned him. I think he has a great future. Where he will end up, should he leave Palace, we will wait and see.

In response to G1, probably money. Plus, the lad is English and probably saw Germany as more a stepping stone to get a big move back to the prem where he'd be a starter. I guess a bit like Spanish players do before moving to barca/ Madrid.

Do Liverpool hold any firm interest in Sessegnon ed? I’m hoping we’d be able to make a move at some point. There’s 10 to 15 years of potential there.

{Ed001's Note - we certainly were looking at him last season. Not sure if we still are though.}

I thought AWB at first but like eds pointed out if we got Sessegnon he would cover more positions and klopp would bring out the best in him because he seems to have struggled this season. Both have huge potential.

Ok cheers ed, with the homegrown quota likely in need of topping up in the summer, I think we’d be daft not to.

Ed1, do you have any idea why they aren't playing Sessegnon as much as they SHOULD be doing mate? I just don't get it. He kept there to help them out and that's how they treat him, the sooner he's out the better.

{Ed001's Note - because of his age, that is all it is. They don't believe they can rely on him.}

Ah I see. Its a weird one because to me, he's their best player. I hope he gets a move in the summer, no doubt he will.

Palace are 5 points ahead of Cardiff, they’re not safe yet and could be tempted to sell AWB if relegated.

They can't rely on him. He's been at fault for countless goals when on the pitch he's terrible at marking at corners and he's never attempted to win a 50/ 50 tackle never mind won one he's useless in airel duels too. Hopefully all these things will improve with age and experience but for now he can't be relied upon. If he plays in the left wing position as ed says he could cover with us a lot of those things wouldn't be such a problem.

I think sessegnon is too good to play 2nd fiddle. But if he can play in the more offensive role then yeah, it makes sense. I always thought he was marked for spurs?

Robbo is too good to play 2nd fiddle. I would go for chilwell as lb back up/ rotation. And look to sign a striker. Sell Sturridge and replace with a hungrier player.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no current interst in Sessegnon. He will move elsewhere.}

Aaron Martins for me, most assists and goals of any under 21 player in the championship. Would be a lot cheaper than wan bissaka too.

Question for any of the Eds. do you think he will go for the rumoured price of £50 million? Hard to see anyone paying that much for him.

Do you reckon there will be a clause in his contract saying he could leave for a certain fee if Fulham are to be relegated?

{Ed002's Note - You are on the wrong page - this is the Liverpool page. Fulham are asking for around £50M for him - it is nothing whatsoever to do with Liverpool.}

I guess we can put that to bed.

Thanks Ed.

Robbiesine, Chilwell is England's left back and in my opinion a quality player. No way would he come to not be guaranteed a starting place. If I were a betting man I reckon he will move to City.

Ah well, we can only dream lol either way no matter where the lad ends up, good luck to him, he'll do well.
