Just looking at an article which shows all of Rafas signings at LFC. Who remembers Mark Gonzalez? I thought he was going to be the absolute dogs nuts, actually rates him in his time with us. Does ED001 and the rest of you guys remember him and why didn't it work out?

Remember him, it was a punt that didn't work out. Anyone know how his career went? I mean, isn't Luis Alberto doing well now?

Think he played in Spain for a while and then back to South America.

Him and Sebastian Leto filled the role of "lesser-spotted South American Winger" for about 4 seasons back in the 2000's.

I saw the article about Rafa’s 64 signings for Liverpool, too. I remembered everyone of them except Jan Kromkamp. I have absolutely no recollection of the lad at all. I looked him up on Google, stared at photos of him in his Liverpool kit and . nothing. I can recall, for example, a goal by Kevin Keegan on his Liverpool debut against Nottingham Forest at Anfield in August 1971 as if it was yesterday but Kromkamp signing and playing for us in 2006? Absolutely zilch. Isn’t that weird? Or is it a sign of Old Timers Disease catching up with me?

Wirral Wonder-- Watch Stevie G's goal against West Ham in the cup final and you'll see him. he managed to find his way into the celebrations (and even more suprisingly the pitch! ) .

I wonder what he's up too. Hope the lad is well.

Kromkamp was terrible. Don't think he played that much. His highlight was that atrocious dive he committed, it was utterly embarrassing. Gonzalez was tipped to be the next "insert name here". Just never lived up to the hype.

c-mattthews94, I was sure you were wrong about that so I looked it up. Jeez, he actually did come on as sub in that FA Cup Final for Xabi Alonso! And yep, there he is celebrating that Gerrard equalizer. Apparently he made 18 appearances for Liverpool mostly as a sub. And I don’t remember a thing about him! I’m off to arrange for a full time nurse.

I remember when we signed jovanovic and he smashed the bar from 35 yards against arsenal on his debut, thought we’d uncovered a gem - best it got for him too.

Kronkamp was part of the team that won the FA Cup in 2006. He even came on as a sub in that final. As for Mark Gonzalez, he left LFC and had a stint in Russia with CSKA and played for Chile in the 2010 WC. That's about all I can remember.

Do you remember the lengths we went to to get a work permit for Gonzalez? What a let down.
