Ed1 this is (ideally) for you - Klopp stated he thought Salah was MOM.
I as genuinely planning to raise the question of what is up with him as I thought the exact opposite. But what do I know?!
(spoiler alert - not a lot 🙂)
Interested in your take. Is it
A) correct
B) good man management of a player low on confidence or
C) bit of both?

As usual, any answer most welcomed and thanked!

{Ed001's Note - I thought he was very good but not outstanding. But now I think about it, nobody really stood out as better than the rest, so why not Salah? I mean Lallana played well, but he also made a lot of mistakes, but his contribution is more visible than Salah's, rather than better. The problem is, when you are watching the game it is very easy to miss things first time. A lot of Salah's work in particular this season goes unnoticed as it is the way he drags the defenders around to create space for others. We all know Trent causes mayhem when he gets forward, but he can only do that so easily because Salah is making a huge space for him by attracting 3 or sometimes 4 players towards his movement.}

Salah is opening up space in the centre everytime he gets the ball as he attracts one or 2 players across to help out their LB. I think TAA coming back has helped here as Salah is able to do a quick dump off to him - for me this gave TAA the space and time to deliver those great crosses in the match against Watford.

Salah was excellent, and certainly a MOTM contender. I'd of perhaps given it to Bobby but can see a lot of merit in it being Salah as well.

I have to admit that even on MOTD I already seen hiw wrong I was!
I guess thus is the knee jerk emotional response I had during the match.
As always, much appreciated Ed!

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

Mane MOTM for me Ed, scored 2 great goals and worked hard all over the field. Was a real threat throughout. Strange he often gets overlooked mate. He is 1 goal off the Prem top scorer and has been our most consistent player for the main this season IMO.

Salah forced the issue for our first 3 goals, his touch is off slightly so his work looks a little scruffy at the minute but his direct dribbles and movement created the bulk of our chances yday, a few solid contenders for motm for me, any of the front 3 or lallana.

Salah’s touch and finishing is off yes but at least he is causing the opposition a lot of problems, he has not scored in the last three games but has very visibly being the one causing the most problems. It seems very cheap to say he is in poor form because of this. Would you rather swap him out for a player who is going to have far less impact on the match because of a knee jerk reaction to his poor play? People should think before they spout such nonsense.

I did not miss any of that, Ed01. Salah was outstanding vs Burnley and arguably MOTM, IMO. I mean, some people do not understand how he affects the game plan of the opposing team. I mean, he puts the fear of satan into those defenders and the Burnley defenders were NO different.

As a former CF, I was always told that if you can't score then you have to affect the game in other ways. Salah is doing that in abundance esp. vs Burnley and Watford where again, he was outstanding. Anyone basing his assessment of Salah on whether he scores or not, is missing the big picture. To the opposition, his mere presence on the pitch is frightening and very few player on the planet can get to that level. Sure he was off vs Everton and some fans shamelessly got on his back and wanted him sold (I have NO clue what type of LFC fans these people are) BUT I'm not worried. The goals will come for him cos he is doing ALL the other things very well.
