A bit of banter Ed002.

Gut feeling, who do you think will be Champions come Sunday 12th May.

{Ed002's Note - At the start of the season I thought it would be Manchester City. Liverpool have a great chance to disrupt matters but with so many of the Liverpool fans failing to support the team could well impact that. We have seen three players in the recent past hit by the social media expoits of the fans - they can easily lose confidence. The fans don't care - a draw at the weekend in a derby is not unexpected nor a major issue - all I see was "season ended at Everton", "lost the league", etc., etc.. It can get to the players as we have seen in the past - you need to remember that most of the Liverpool players are as dumb as the Liverpool fans.

So, I am pretty much alone in giving Liverpool a chance - but Manchester City are a very good side.}

So true!

It’s an interesting one Ed002.

I think social media and the media add to the tension with the fans. All you read in the papers and listen to on the radio is how we’ve thrown away a seven point lead and it’s now City’s to lose. Coupled with the fact we’ve not won the league in such a long time, the pressure cranks up.

I’m fortunate to have seen us lift the league championship back in the late 80’s where as most on here probably haven’t. We never had social media whipping up fans into a frenzy back then, it was all banter down the pub and on the stands.

One thing for sure is that on match day, we are fully getting behind the team.

This title race is not over and I think we’ll do it.

{Ed002's Note - Right it is not over.}

Its best to wait a day then post, last season I said klopp should be sacked after we got hammered by spurs, very silly.

One thing's for certain is we should be proud of the team and how far they've come. I'm a little disappointed with recent results, but it's a pleasure to support this team and always will be. Knowing Liverpool has a match today always warms my day up!

Some fans think the league should be easy to win. Every team has a blip. 4 wins in 6, 1 point behind city with an easier run in. I'd have taken that in August. dreamt of it 3 year or even a year ago.

People have short memories, this is probably the best team we have had in 10 years. We are qualifying for the champions league every year, we had hardly been in it for the previous 10 years and everyone was saying that is the target, we have a achieved that target and are looking to push onto the next level. We have achieved a much better consistency and continue to get to finals (I know we have not won any but it will happen if we get behind the team) .

Some of the so called 'fans' need to get off the players back, maybe some are feeling the pressure that is coming from you guys and the media.

WE ARE 1 POINT BEHIND, CHILL!

Even if we still lose two more games this season, this team would still break 90 points which has only been done on very few occasions over the course of history. The problem is Man City are just extraordinary and we’ve had a few draws so people feeling a bit down, but in reality when you step back to be where we are now vs where we were when Klopp stepped in is just a world apart and some of our so called fans need a reality check.

We still have the chance to be one of the highest ever point scoring sides in PL history and we are still very much in with a shot, so let’s belt it out against Burnley lads and ladies, a good win there and a win against Bayern and the doom and gloom merchants will slink off into the shadows again.

Spot on, Ed02. As Ed25 says, "It is not the team that are bottlers. It is the fans".

when we had that 4 or 7 point gap (whatever it was) it would have been amazingly miraculous had we maintained our run of results to keep that gap until the end of the season. We are talking an all-time historic premiership season. whilst possible, not probable and for me is silly that that standard is now being used to beat the team down by some fans. When in reality, depending where you sit we're either over-achieving or right about where we should be.

The guys are doing great. they are going through a bit of a rut, and I would hope that all you who have the privilege to attend the matches are there to push the lads over the line, not to be the chain yanking down with your own sorrows. #YNWA.

That's as fair an assessment Ed002. I'm unfortunately in total agreement, a large section of our fan base could be part of the reason we haven't won the premier league.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't help players when they are jeered or trashed on social media.}

Ed02 BUT they will come back and tell you that they are only voicing their opinions. Yeah, right cos trashing and jeering a player from the stands will definitely help him play better. Encouragement and support? Who does that these days?
