Think I may get slated for this, but think that if some one comes in for Salah with sill money (100 mil +) I think we should take it and buy 2 quality strikers, eg Timo Warner, Immobile, Icardi, Dybala. (add your own choice) We don't have a good plan "B" to put in. I can see Sturridge, maybe Origi going along with Lallana and Milner. Short of real attacking options to maintain a title challenge, Defence is sound with Gomez coming back and Ox return from injury.

{Ed0333's Note - the most outlandish overreaction in the world ever. You wanna get rid of a truly world class player that any side in world football would relish on the back of him not scoring the 2 guilt edged chances he had today? And on top of that you’d only want a 100 million for him? That’s less than Coutinho. Give you’re head a wobble mate.

Risking the wrath here myself aswell but football is about opinion and I agree canadianscouse. Well, about the sale if a good offer comes in (not getting embroiled about the fee.

Salah is a good player no doubt about it, but he is not truly world class at all, infact i think its abit of an insult to messi and co. to say salah is in the same bracket.

World class players perform week in week out, season in season out, they stand up when needed and win games, sometimes single handedly. Salah did last season, but hasn't this. I still think he should have scored 50% more last season, missed some sitters.

The phrase 'world class' is branded around too easily just like 'legend'.

Gerrard was world class, and an absolute legend. I am not comparing him to Salah because they are obvsiouly completely different players, I'm just saying.

football is about opinion.

We are all entitled to our opinion Ed 0333, The word "World class" player is very often over used as in this case, Salah has become 1 dimensioned tries to place the ball every time in place of putting his boot through the ball or even playing the simple pass to an open player. Name calling is immature as I am not some" entitled teenager or despot" I played the game at a high level, probably higher than you. As I say it's an opinion.

{Ed0333's Note - yes you have probably played football at a higher level than me and you maybe correct in saying Salah is one dimensional as elects to place the ball rather than smash it into the net (maybe he feels he has more accuracy/control this way) but It would be remiss of me not to put up an impassioned advocacy of the breathtaking ‘world class’ talent that is Mohammed Salah Ghaly. If youthink Salah isn’t world class than I’m incredulous and shocked especially as you come from such a lofty position of expertise. Also what makes you think that icardi, immobile or Dybala et al would come to us? Salah is ours and performing at a stellar level more often than not which surely is worth more than selling him and taking a punt on a new player.

We might As well sell V. V. D. to he's missed a couple of headers and tackles latly 😁 just calm down were in a great position.

Hey ed maybe that's why we don't deserve too win the league with absolutely foolish fan reactions, let's not forget here salah is a winger naturally same as mane, we don't have a real predator in the middle bobby is boss but he ain't an out an out goalscorer, salah is taking all the responsibility as the goal getter and without him on the pitch this season we wouldn't be were we are .

{Ed0333's Note - I’m still open mouthed as to some fans wanting to sell Salah Hailstones. In my opinion were blessed such a superb footballer, philanthropist and humanitarian wants to play for us I would have him over 99% of players in the world I.e Kepa, Icardi, Ramos etc. Have you ever heard a peep of arrogance, defiance or rebuttal from him? The guy oozes class much like Roger Federer and is a fantastic ambassador for our club. He misses two chances and we should sell him what about the 49 goals he’s scored for us in record breaking time in such splendid fashion? Some people have real short memories. I thought he was a real nuisance today and all that was lacking was a goal.

To truly appreciate how good Salah is, look at his goals and assists in the last 2 seasons, then try and think what players Liverpool could buy who are superior to him. I cannot think of any forwards in world football who are better than Salah apart from Messi. Dybala, Icardi play in the slow Italian league.
Admittedly Salahs goals have dryed up but he is still causing havoc for opposition defences in almost every game. We cannot expect him to score every game, maybe Liverpool are over reliant on the front 3 and need to add more goals from midfield. Selling Salah is not the answer .

You see, it is these types of petulant, OTT comments that do my head in. So according to the OP, we should sell a proven, incredible, international talent who ANYONE would have in his team, cos he did not score in one game? What about the other multitude of games he has scored in or in games where he has saved our bacon? Should all that now be kicked to the back burner? How do you know Icardi, Werner are better cos clearly, you have not seen them play that much. Werner (who is off to Bayern) is pretty hit and miss and Icardi is a nightmare to deal with for a manager.

I am not bothered at what level you played football at cos it is of not relevance here, bro. You saying Salah should smash it instead of placing it, is a matter of opinion, not fact. As someone who has actually played the CF position, it depends on what the player is comfortable with. Some like accuracy hence, placement while others just play the percentages like Vardy, and smash them. You would know that if you played football at whatever level you played it at.

Pls, give over man cos what you posted is NOT an opinion cos it lacks any type of thought, nuance and logic. You just sound like a spoiled, petulant child who threw his toys out of the pram cos he did not get the fav. toy he wanted. Get A Grip!

Out of curiosity were you that upset by Jay's post? Just my opinion but I know I have bigger worries than someone on the internet calling me names.

We all have opinion and are entitled to said opinion. Mine is there are 9 games plus CL left. I will support the shirt and players in the shirt. What will be will be.

Either way this to me has been the most exciting year since 08.

Cant agree with selling Salah as on his day he can be unplayable. However, i agree with the OP that Salah can be hit and miss and, despite his record amount of goals last season, i don't see him as a natural finisher and often makes the wrong choices with the ball. He is a vital component of this team though and compliments our front three but he should be scoring double the amount with the chances he gets.

I just wish he'd work on using his right foot a bit more. It still baffles me that they do this for a living and at the very least don't have a serviceable weak foot. Think it would open up a bit more space for him if there was even a mild threat he'd go the other way for a change. Think that would help put him in that top bracket of players.

{Ed001's Note - but he goes on his right a lot, which is why he is so successful at being able to cut in on his left. I really wonder why people don't actually see these things.}

I know he takes the ball right a lot Ed, I don’t disagree, but I don’t think he uses his right foot a lot. He’s always looking to come back on the left and whip something, or prod something with his left. The chance against Everton where he took it too close and wide, he was looking to shift round on to his left instead of just taking it with his right.

If I was a FB up against him, I know the ball is never leaving his left, means I can play that side a bit more, if he beats me with a swinger of a right or outside of left, fair play. But I actually think it makes running with the ball harder for him on the right, as the ball is always defenders side rather than having his body in the way.

Not being pedantic Ed or anything, or argumentative, just my opinion. I’ll take a closer look next game on this.

{Ed001's Note - then why can no full back handle him? If it is so easy like?}
