Blimey, all this talk of fines and Klopp’s is nearly as large as the combined total for ones at entire match (albeit at a division below) .

Is there any structure to these figures or do they just make the amounts up out of a hat?

I would like to think fines are based on a percentage of wage rather than just made up figures? Ed002 I'm sure can give light? It would make much more sense if it's not the way it's done to say minor infringement ranges from 10-25% weeks wage bigger infringement may be 50-100% and a serious infringement could be 2-3 weeks. I'm just making up the sections here but this would be the logical fair way to do things?

Klopp’s fine was completely over the top considering entire clubs get a rap on the knuckles and a token few hundred quid for appalling racism. No balance at all in the amounts.
