Hi Ed mate, do you think anfield will ever hold a major European cup final anytime soon.

I’ve wondered this myself and asked a few years ago when we built the new stand, ed2 said Anfield wouldn’t be hosting one anytime soon. I’m not sure why, perhaps it was because we hadn’t put it forward. When you say you don’t know if the club have any interest in putting it forward, would there be a reason why not ed? Surely it’s a prestigious thing to hold but no doubt there must be some sort of downside to it?

I had asked this question during my Anfield tour last year, and I recall the guide saying something about there not being enough space between the pitch and the stands to meet UEFA/ FIFA requirements for a major final.

He indicated that it was a matter of 2-3 feet (yards? ) . No idea if true. would the Ed's know anything about this?
