If we manage to beat City to the title this season and it's a big if, it will be one hell of an achievement.

Watched the Huddersfield game and whilst they were always going to beat the Terriers, it's their bench that's full of talent!

Totally agree, simply put its the most expensive squad ever assembled in the Premier League. For anyone to go toe to toe with them takes some doing, but to keep up with City for goals scored is a hell of a task.

I know it's asking too much for people to see that Pep is painfully overrated, but it would be ever sweeter to see him finish without the PL or CL this season.

Deep pockets allows them that.

Has he ever managed a team without deep pockets. Yes he's a really good manager there's no question but I'd like to see him manage a team like Everton and see where he gets.

Everton just bought Richarlison for £50mil and Sigurdsson for £40mil. They’ve got more money than sense!

Pep couldn't achieve with our current group what klopp is but what klopp could achieve over there in scary.

{Ed0333's Note - that’s hypothetical mate. How do you know Pep couldn’t be top of the league with Liverpool’s squad?

I LOVE Klopp however I have no doubt Pep would be successful wherever he goes he is simply the best manager in world right now. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't change klopp and he is up there which would make it even more or an achievement if we do make it to the promised land. Simply that city squad pound for pound is probably the best in the world.

{Ed0333's Note - Brendan Rogers takes umbrage at you calling pep the best coach in the world.

Would or could Pep do what Rafa did and stay with a team through relegation and bring them back up again, on a limited budget?
He probably could, but I doubt he would.

Yes Pep has had enormous funds at his disposal, but you still need to select the right sort of players, instill the club with a style of play and culture, deal with the egos etc.

I think Klopp is absolutely perfect for us but it’s not fair to say Pep wouldn’t have done well at Liverpool or to assume what he achieved last season was easy.

Ah begs the question, would pep have settled for a 7 million pound lb from hull, Trent at rb, Gomez at cb, Milner/ hendo&wij in the middle.

Shaqiri and mahrez were both avaliable in the summer for pretty much the same role in the team. He splashed 70 mil on his super sub.

So if had of demanded better (at the time transfers) then he might be top of the league but not with the squad klopp has.

We can guarantee foden would be starting over there though with klopp!

Not sure Pep would have taken the Dortmund job in 2008 when they were totally crap, a complete basket case the same way Klopp did and turned them into the most feared side in the Bundesliga and one of the most feared sides in Europe at the time. That I'm afraid, would never have happened. Also, not sure Pep would have taken the LFC job with the mess we were in after BR got the boot, the same way Klopp did and turned us into what we are today. That much is true.

Now does that mean Klopp is better than Pep? No. Does Pep achieving as much as he has with deep pockets mean he is better than Klopp? IMO, No. Why? Look at their beginnings. You cannot compare the two cos Klopp rose from the depths of Bundesliga 2 to get where he is while Pep grew up in the coaching ranks with a silver spoon in his mouth, managerially speaking. In that sense, I would take Klopp over Pep any day cos he fits what we are as a club and City: Grit, fight, determination working class attitude etc.
