Good luck today Ed’s, I imagine you’re going to be quite busy dealing with questions regarding Coutinho, Spanish media are saying he’s been transfer listed and Liverpool are his preferred destination. going to be a long month for you guys 😂.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained about Coutinho - perhaps they should look at the European pages.}

As the saying goes. He made his bed now lie in it.

I visit Barcelona a lot and I know a lot of big Barcelona fans, they're not happy with him basically, I'm glad he's having a rough time. I used to love the little magician. But when he started faking all these back injuries etc. I hope he flops there.

{Ed002's Note - Spewing the hate.}

31 Dec 2018 11:56:14
Not exactly spewing hate though ed, the lad faked injuries in order to force a move away from the club not long after signing a contract, I think it’s understandable that us as fans still hold a grudge as I’m sure the fans of any other club would.

{Ed002's Note - So you have hatred for van Dyke as well - went on strike to force a move?}

4.) 31 Dec 2018
31 Dec 2018 12:15:44
Obviously not because he came to us but I imagine Southampton fans do, every single fan base in the world dislikes players who have forced a move from their club, united fans don’t like tevez for doing it, Chelsea fans even booed frank lampard, arguably their greatest ever player for joining Man City and the list goes on.

{Ed002's Note - You should do, else you are simply a hypocrite.}

If LFC is Coutinho's preferred destination, then he better be willing to pay the transfer fee out of his own pocket.

6.) 31 Dec 2018
31 Dec 2018 12:38:28
Said this the other day, Barcelona's scouting radar must be broken if they're looking to get rid of two signings who they've recently paid a total of about £250m for - that's bad buying that is.

7.) 31 Dec 2018
31 Dec 2018 12:50:14
I want Coutinho back please plz plz!

8.) 31 Dec 2018
31 Dec 2018 12:53:25
Other than PSG including him in a swap deal or City looking for a D Silva replacement I don’t see who could possibly afford Coutinho.

Regularly our player of the season.

Great respect for him but don’t want him back, we’ve moved on.

10.) 31 Dec 2018
31 Dec 2018 13:43:34
You've said it in one Ron mate.

To me we're a much better team without him, he's history now, just because it isn't working out for him over there doesn't mean we'll get him back lol that's never going to happen, thank god! Great player no doubt but it was obvious when he left we didn't need him as we looked miles better without him. He thought the grass was greener, leave him to it. I'm surprised he's still been discussed tbh because he's nothing to do with Liverpool now and never will be.

Whilst I agree he left us in a very unclassy way I disagree that he wouldn’t suit our style. I agree that he doesn’t suit the direct style we had last season but we now play different styles even with the same game so I’ve no doubt he’d be effective.

I suspect it’s a moot point as Klopp wouldn’t be forgiving of the personal attacks that were engineered by Phil’s people last winter and secondly we couldn’t afford what Barcelona would want.

31 Dec 2018 15:27:14
Ed002, remind us please how much of the transfer fee is still owed by Barcelona?

{Ed002's Note - The full potential fee is:
€120,000,000 Paid in five instalments (€24M) between January 2018 and June 2020. Jan, June, Jan, June, June
€5,000,000 Paid when player has appeared in 25 first class games for the club between January 2018 and May 2020.
€5,000,000 Paid when player has appeared in 50 first class games for the club between January 2018 and May 2020.
€5,000,000 Paid when player has appeared in 75 first class games for the club between January 2018 and May 2020.
€5,000,000 Paid when player has appeared in 100 first class games for the club between January 2018 and May 2020.
€5,000,000 Paid when Barcelona qualify for the Group Stages of the 2018/19 Champions League.
€5,000,000 Paid when Barcelona win the 2018/19 Champions League.
€5,000,000 Paid when Barcelona qualify for the Group Stages of the 2019/20 Champions League.
€5,000,000 Paid when Barcelona win the 2019/20 Champions League.

Paid so far is €48M of the fee, with another €24M imminent. €5M for games played with another €5M after 5 or 6 more games, and €5M for 2018/19 Champions League qualification. So actually paid is €58M with €24M/€29M due soon.

In terms of what has to be paid on from this by Liverpool:
FIFA Solidarity payment of 2.5% of the fees to be paid by Liverpool to Inter between January 2018 and June 2020 (first payment (calculated from the €120M and not the instalments) was actually made in March. Two further payments will be made with the amounts increased to reflect any additional payments due for appearances etc.).
FIFA Solidarity payment of 2.5% of the fees to be paid by Liverpool to Vasco de Gama between January 2018 and June 2020 (first payment (calculated from the €120M and not the instalments) was late and FIFA intervened to force Liverpool to pay the money in to ESCROW with The FA. Two further payments will be made with the amounts increased to reflect any additional payments due for appearances etc.).}

Ooofff, looks like we’lllp get £80m odd from his transfer, less various fees, if he’s sold on by Barcelona soon?
A far cry from the £140m often seen in the press.
Thanks again Ed002, great reply, and all the best. 🛩.

{Ed002's Note - No, you misunderstand. The fee of €120M remains regardless. The others obviously depend on whether or not he stays.}

His kids are scousers. They were born here. Maybe they want to go home.

Doubt it will happen but I would welcome him back with open arms. We would be unplayable with him back in the set up.

We are pretty much unplayable now. A true ten, possibly the best in the world though. Wow.

{Ed0333's Note - I would love Couts back. I don’t subscribe to this faking injury to force a move bollox. So what! Barcelona came in for him who wouldn’t want to go there? If I was a journalist for the BBC living in Manchester and CNN came in hard for me offered to better my wages, gave me the opportunity to live in New York and a wonderful life experience I’d be doing all I could to change jobs and I think this analogy is tue for the vast majority of us. Most importantly Klopp has said he bears no ill feeling towards Couts. So if he wanted to come back and the transfer was viable for all parties golly gosh I would love to see it happen. The guy was an absolute joy to watch when he turned up.

Ed333 it's not true for the majority cos, well to be fair, it just doesn't happen for the majority hahahaha.

{Ed0333's Note - happy new year mate. Lol

E02, thanks for the figures, man. Ed0333, I disagree regarding Cou coming back. To me, he made his bed and he should lie in it, end of story. In fact, it is not the fact of him making the bed BUT HOW he made his bed. Him wanting to leave is not and will NEVER be my issue cos it is not a marriage and even marriages get broken up for diff. reasons. What matters is how you break up the relationship and his conduct on this front, was disgraceful.

If Ed01 is to be believed, Cou threatened to go on strike, blow up the dressing room etc. just to get his way. That ia NOT acceptable, IMO. If we take him back? Fine with me but he must first off, bear the consequences of his actions first and then, we can discuss. Until then, he should kick rocks and bear the consequences in the short term, of his choices and actions. Happy 2019, my friend!

{Ed0333's Note - Coutinho threatened to blow up the dressing room? What with dynamite I didn’t know that if that’s the case he’s a very naughty boy and needs to be reprimanded. Mate let me give you an analogy. Philip Coutinho is like a beautiful women who you know is way beyond your league, she treats you like crap, abuses you in front of you’re family, maybe even sleeps with one of you’re buddies but you take her back because she looks like something Micheal Angelo sculpted and is the Sex of you’re life. That’s where I’m at with Couts. If he ever came back I’m pretty sure he’d have the majority of fans welcome him with open arms.
