Hi Eds, what about koulibaly of Napoli? Is there any chance Liverpool will buy him? Who is interested in him? He is one of the best in the world .

Our centre backs are all playing well at the moment and none of them (apart from maybe Matip) would be happy to be backup in the long run. Koulibaly is great but would also not be ok warming the bench.

As has been pointed out on here a lot recently we have good cover at CB, it is full backs where we need more options. Moreno and Clyne are not adequate cover to challenge Robbo and TAA (yes Gomez can play RB but that's not his best position or where his future is) .

The club should be looking at many other positions before looking at CBs. Only if Gomez or VVD were to leave would this become a priority imo.

OP, And what would Khoulibaly be doing here with 4 CB's ahead of him potentially (in terms of knowing the system thru and thru and all that) esp. since NONE of them will be leaving this Jan or in the summer?

I do love how everyone here talks about TAAs best position being midfield - how many of us have actually seen him play there in a premier league game. For me he's an outstanding young full back who should stake his claim for a place in this team for the next 10 years saving us a search for a right back. We have plenty midfield options at the moment.
