I have learnt not to get my hopes up but man could this be? Keep going game by game and Newcastle should be our sole focus but my mind does stray at times. I know its ifs or buts but if Leicester can take a point against Man City and we continue to win are games before we face City, a victory against them could open up a 10 point gap.

Even if we have a 4 point lead on january 3 the pressure in City would be immense. They won't make up a 7 point gap, just imagine the panic if we take the lead.
Interesting times ahead.

As a fan you can focus on whatever you bloody like, it's so daft other fans telling people what they should do. I believe in Klopp! He has got these players focused and driven, a quality forward addition in January for me would be very useful but I have faith in the current squad right now. We did suffer in the leauge with our CL run last season so that's my thinking there. We can definitely enjoy being 4 points clear at christmas, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Ynwa!

Just take one game at a time and don’t get your hopes up just yet. City has a fantastic squad and can easily make up that gap if we drop the ball at any point.

{Ed0333's Note - We don’t have Mignolet in goal we haven’t dropped the. All in ages mate

Ed0333 love it mate, what a difference Allison and VVD have made to the team, we have gone from being rediculed for our defence and keeper to now being solid in that department.

{Ed0333's Note - my friends that support other teams keep sending me gifs of Gerard’s ‘slip’ and you know what Alonso it doesn’t affect me at all. Maybe it’s kismet winning it with Klopp. You’re spot on It’s amazing what a world class keeper can do to morale and confidence. Supplement that with one of the best defenders in the world who has everything you could possibly want in a center back. Gotta keep those two fit mate.

Lfcfan_03beef, I did not see anyone telling anyone else what they need to focus on in this thread so not sure what you are on about. As for the rest of your post, I fully agree. Let's enjoy being top of the PL for this week until we play Newcastle cos as fans IMO, that is what is important right now.

OP, I would not think that far ahead if I were you. Too many things can happen with so many games left BUT we can do all that and still dream at the same time so dream on, my brother. I will say that if we must dream, let us dream with our eyes open as in, dream but not lose sight of the reality we are currently living. GO REDS!

{Ed0333's Note - I’m done being wary and cautious. Let’s enhoy the moment and dream big. Is anything won in December? Of course not, can we win it? Of course we can. Should we as fans be circumspect about winning the league? Maybe but I’m not because I believe we can and I believe we will win it. Why should I keep my emotions in check. If we don’t win it I won’t feel like a fool because THIS MEANS MORE

Spot on Ed! This is exactly my argument with a couple of Chelsea fans. Yes we've had this happen before, but this time I'm totally confident in every aspect of the team.

The defence is the best it's been in my lifetime, and as good as Reina was, I think Alisson is better. The midfield is solid and industrious, with a good mix of defensive and creative attributes. The best thing with our forwards is that we're not overly reliant on anyone of them, which is useful given the reality of a full season will likely bring knocks/ injuries - when they're all fit and on their game, we're a match for anyone. The bench has genuine options to turn a game, week in week out.

In terms of the manager, for all Pep's tactical brilliance Klopp has proved in head-to-head clashes to be at least on par with his teams and I personally think he's a better man manager than Pep. The fact is that it's now in our hands, and I don't think it's too early to say that, yes the team has to focus on each game as it comes but as supporters we are allowed to cast our eyes further forward.

{Ed0333's Note - I appreciate youre perspective mate. Why shouldn’t we be optimistic title charges don’t come often for us and I’m tired of being out of the reckoning by Xmas. If someone wants to denigrate me for thinking my team are winning the premiership then honestly f**k em. I’m the master of my own thoughts and don’t have to conform to anyone’s agenda. I think we’re winning this and as I said earlier if we don’t I’m gonna enjoy the ride. Listen by March we maybe 6th then I’ll regret not celebrating the now. Merry Xmas FORNAX

Redwolf - I understand what you're saying but its hard not to think that far ahead.

Ed0333 - Let other fans mock us, I get it at work with people saying Liverpool are doing well but in the same breath dismiss us and say we will fall away. Telling you now if we win the title, I will be an emotional wreck of tears, joy, laughter, happiness you name it. One thing I wanted to say is we are actually a good team now, hard to put it into words and articulate what I mean but I think the team now realises that and that's the difference.

Ed0333 and Alonso1976, I feel you man and please, I am not telling anyone to do as I do. Like you and many others, I am enjoying every minute of this season we are having, no question. I'm enjoying it so much that I have to pinch myself to realize how far we have come under this wonderful manager who came to us at our lowest point and in three full season, turned us into a juggernaut and the best thing is, we are not the finished article yet. I just want to take it one game at a time even tho, I agree that it is tough to not get carried away or think that far ahead. want to know a secret? I often wonder what I would do if (or when) Hendo lifts the PL trophy at Anfield after we beat Wolves. I am yet to have an answer hence to some extent, why I can't think that far ahead.

RW. Reckon you’ll strip and dance around? Or get so drunk that you don’t even remember? Or shout so loud that your neighbours call the cops on you? Whatever it may be, it’ll be fantastic.

P. S. remember what Paisley did, just sip on some orange juice after winning the biggest trophies around. That can do as well!

Thanks, sgynwa. I will keep Paisley's advice in mind even tho, I'm more of an apple/ pineapple juice kind of guy.

We were 3 games from the title in 2014, there are 20 games left.
Hold your horses, we’re not even close yet.
