Bit of a shout out to Raheem Sterling. Fair play to him for his total non reaction to the vile piece of work screaming that at him from a couple of metres away.

I suppose you get used to some forms of abuse everywhere when you're in the limelight, but if he'd have been screaming that at me at such a close distance, he'd have lost his glasses and probably more to boot. Not much more I can say without overstepping the bounds.

Well done Sterling anyway.

Nice one mate. Hate the lad but it’s vile behavior.

{Ed001's Note - did you see the look on his face? Well done for him, because he did deal with it brilliantly.}

Sterling's finishing has made me eat my words too. I can admit when I'm wrong. The lad can hit them.

Yeah I could easily tell what was being said as well and he just completely ignored it but you can tell he noticed. I think that’s the best way for an individual to deal with it, no reaction hurts the scum. Or even the way Dani alvez dealt with it, he picked up the banana and ate it, how much of a middle finger is that. The club will ban him for life and maybe some other actions will be taken against him but that’s a huge W for sterling, just got on with it.

100% well done Sterling. I agree his actions were commendable but really the question is why were they needed?!

Chelsea have a very real problem with this and it has been in the spotlight for them a few times. Only have to cast the mind back to the Paris train incident.

Yes he was clearly not happy, but what can you do? My level of respect has certainly increased for him anyway. I don’t think anyone would have blamed him if a Cantona situation had happened, considering the video evidence.

I just hope the guy (s) can have criminal charges brought against them. Simply banning people like that doesn't change their ways, they’re so ignorant that they’ll blame Sterling himself for their own actions.

{Ed0333's Note - I’ve been racially abused by Chelsea fans and I’m sad to say my reaction wasn’t as humble as Sterling’s one. You have to commend the kid on his restraint because you’re right Redinthewrongway he had every right to smash his size 9’s in to the teeth of that vile cretin. I truly hope Chelsea ban him for life and the police throw away the key.
