Hi eds
I know your really busy but I was hoping I could ask if you could have a page with some of your funny stories about footballers or other people stories they have. Would be good to have on those boring days when we need something to read. Thanks eds.

{Ed001's Note - do you mean something like the 'And Finally...' thing I do on Monday's Review of the Day but longer?}

A page like that would be quality Ed mate.

{Ed001's Note - I could do that, might make it difficult to fill up Monday's page though. I will have a think about some of the longer stories that I can put on there to fill up a page with.}

Ed, instead of adding it to the Monday's review of the day you could add it to that page once a week instead mate? always love them bits you add, it would be good to have a dedicated page for it.

{Ed001's Note - if that is the consensus I am happy to go along with that.}

The story with John Aldridge and cascarino playing with Jack Charlton about the penny on the forehead has to be one of the best stories in football I have ever heard. Aldridge tells it always, it's brilliant.

Fantastic idea LongThing and Ed I think it would be a great addition to the site. The daily news threads are awesome as they are, the "random" stories from the past are a nice to have so would be value added to include them in a separate weekly update.

Anyway, as I rarely post, this seems like a great opportunity to thank the EDs for their splendid work.

Ed1 and Ed2: It's one thing to be as dedicated to the site (s) as you are but to be able to add the technical insight and internal foresight that you do is what makes this site untouchable from a rivals perspective. Not only that but you've also provided a platform that has allowed a family to grow. One that has helped a few people through dark times. And we owe all of that to the two of you.

I am sure I speak for the vast majority of users when I say my utmost appreciation goes to both of you for everything you've done. I understand the trolling knuckleheads can get a bit much at times but the longer you can keep the frustrations at bay the better as I guarantee 99% of people worship you both. An additional recognition has to go to Ed2 who does all of this off the kindness of his heart, I know you won't mind me singling this out Ed1!

Finally, this site has given birth to an amazing event which, despite not being a part of this coming year due to personal reasons, is something I look forward to supporting wholeheartedly. I am, of course, referring to the Matt Hawker Cup. It was an incredible event last year so please make it if you even have a slither of a chance.

Ed25: I am a rugby player so I don't really buy into this whole rivalry thing as much as the modern day fan. You are a shining light to what can, sometimes, be a very dark place to be a part of. Your light hearted nature and ability to have banter without crossing the line brings a breathe of fresh air to this site. I look forward to the 2020/ 2021 season where we will battling to the final day for the Premier League title.

I apologise to any regular users that I miss in this but a special thanks has to go to Salah, Benny, Ron, Carra, mk, waro and negativeredwalter (yes, you read that correctly) zeddicus, Frankly, Firminosteeth, Davey, Brover, hailstones, drogie, southernred, reid. you know what, there are far more of you than I thought. Obviously the Ed's are the reason this exists but your banter and opinions are what makes it exciting. Keep up the good work guys. You know what, I should include Scholes and the gunners as they are always good company.

It's because of all of you above that any sane user knows there's only one "rumours" site to come to.

Enough of my waffle, take care all.

Cotsi.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much mate, I really appreciate that. It should also be pointed out Ed025 does this out of the goodness of his heart too (though who even knew an Evertonian had goodness or a heart?!?). I am really glad it has been able to help people, it has certainly helped me to have it here when life might otherwise have been hard to cope with. This place becomes a refuge at times.}

That's a really good idea. To those that missed the daily reviews, can catch it up there instead.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't do it in both mate, repeating content is not something I like to do. It is not fair on those people who read the daily review to just get the same stuff as a separate article. Also it feels a bit like cheating. I always get annoyed with those TV shows that always include a recap of the previous episode and then at the end show what is coming next, so you only actually get 10 minutes of show in a 30 minutes slot. It is just a way of cheating the viewer and making cheap TV (like flashbacks). Using the same pieces in more than one article would feel like I was doing the same.}

That's exactly what I meant Ed mate. If this comes to fruition, maybe you can put those you have put earlier on as well, as a compilation or some sort. In the end, you can do it whichever way you feel the best Ed. And regardless, this will be yet another good page for us fans of you guys' work.

{Ed001's Note - ahhh I see what you mean. I will have a think about whether it is worth doing that or just carrying on with a fresh page. I mean if people would like them compiled on one page then that is a different thing, I just don't want to do it as in a lazy 'slice bits here and there from old articles to make a new one' type of thing. My plan was just to add it into the series of articles I do, though I would need a name for it, as it might not always be about football or even sports all the time. My parents are coming to stay in the next few days, so I will make sure to tap them for stories from their youth, in the 1920s or whenever it was they were young (if that ever happened? They claim to have once been young, but I have never seen it so I am dubious).}

Post of the month Cotsi, thank you for the mention too mate. It's always good to see people appreciating the Eds, we don't quite see it enough! Top site, top Eds and top posters! it's the first site I go on in a morning and the last on a night! somewhat addictive isn't it? lol.

Fully agree with every word, Cotsi - This site is unrivalled. I have learned more from Ed001’s comments about football in 2 years than at any point before that combined.

Anything would be great eds and thank you I know you are very very busy. And on a side note I’ve been going though the worst 6 months of my life and still am. And coming on this site every day and reading really does help take my mind off all the troubles. So big thanks to everyone that helps with the site.

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry to hear that mate, I hope things get better for you soon.}
