Lots of points made about yesterday but I'd like to make some points about the bluenoses. Firstly, they are a substantially better team now under Marco Silva. He's clearly a very clever manager and an astute tactician. in all honesty they were unlucky not to walk away from the match with a point.

Unusually, Pickford made a silly mistake. I will bet that it'll teach him two things: 1] be careful not to comment when another keeper makes a blunder, and 2] When unsure put the ball out for a corner. If I was an Everton supporter I'd not be too worried about Pickford because he's clearly a great keeper. one mistake will not make him bad.

Thirdly, I do not understand the constant negative statements about Richarlison. He is only 21 and held the line well yesterday for Everton. He makes mistakes and is prone to anticipating a tackle/ foul but he will get better and by all accounts he is a lovely, grounded young lad.

Finally, André Gomes has a fantastic ability to make it look like he has a lot of time on the ball. We had quite an energetic midfield and quite often he found time and a pass. Barcelona will be happy with his development.

Now, on a red note. We did not play very well and again we've escaped with three points. More interestingly, Everton played very well against a Liverpool that's under-performing and still got nothing from the game. I do hope that this signifies that a better performing LFC will be very difficult to draw with let alone beat. As for Klopp. yes I loved his celebration but immediately thought it'll end up in a touchline ban for one game and a fine. I think the FA will cause itself problems if it does not act so I fully expect a charge to be brought but Hell it was brilliant to see as a red! Let's hope that we perform better against Burnley this Wednesday YNWA.

{Ed0333's Note - Are you sure you’re a Liverpool fan or did you make sweet love to Marco Silva on Saturday night and he corrupted your allegiance? How can you bitch about klopps celebration? It was an action that will go down in football folklore it was a thing of beauty nae poetry. You really have to be the reincarnation of victor meldrew if you gripe about that, Pep did it last season and nothing happened to him. Everton we’re lucky not to get a point? Judging by all the chances we created I think your point is mute. Pickford is not a great keeper, he’s fallible. He’s a decent keeper that sometimes has very good performances.

1) Somewhat agree, they are definitely a better team now but it's difficult not to improve on the dredge that Allardyce and Koeman offered. Marco Silva's a decent manager but his away record with all three teams in England have been consistently poor so I'm not so sure about anointing him 'a very clever manager' just yet.

2) Unusually? Definitely disagree, I don't see the hype for Pickford. Actually, I do, he's English, if he wasn't, people would not have been praising him all this time. His kicking is hit-and-miss (usually miss) and his shotstopping is nowhere near good enough. Everton erred in paying so much for him, if they really want to go on to become a proper team, they'll have to improve this position as soon as possible.

3) Richarlison is a decent player, he's got the ability to really kick on but his tendency to go to ground is why there's so much negativity around him. He might not have rolled around and screamed quite as theatrically as Neymar, but it's still annoying nonetheless to see talented players pull these stunts.

4) Andre Gomes has decent technique and he played a couple of decent passes, but what about the dozens of misplaced passes that went out for a thrown in? If Barcelona are happy with his development (in that they see a use for him other than selling him as soon as possible), then they've come a long, long way from the days of Xavi and Iniesta.

5) Somewhat agree again, we didn't play to our full potential but I wouldn't say we didn't play well. We had four/ five big, big chances that we somehow contrived to miss. If Mane had put on his shooting boots, we'd be talking about a 3-0 or a 4-1 game instead.

6) I love the passion that he brings but I think even Klopp admitted that he'll probably get punished for it. Might not have been the cleverest thing to do but what's done is done.

{Ed025's Note - i love the way you build up the everton player initially only for their to be a BUT.., impartiality is never going to be your strong point zpecialone so i think we can take your views with a pinch of salt mate..

Look as a liverpool fan its really awesome and great to watch it, if not you are not a fan at all but saying that FA are going to pick up liverpool just coz of that is a mistake and that's a disgrace.

I just love the way they keep saying 'a draw would have been a fair result' just because they heard it so many times on TV and Youtube. Everton 'deserved a draw' just because they couldn't convert two good chances? At this rate, Mane should have converted 2, Shaqiri 1, Origi missed a sitter and then ended up converting 1.At that 'deserved rate' the fair score should have been 5-2!

If you now talk about Walcott's chance, Mo scuffed up one too!
And even if we hadn't won it deservedly, we still have won the derby. So get over it. And before people get carried away, we drew both the games against them last year and they probably had the better chances against us in game at Goodison.

{Ed025's Note - how magnanimous of you Das, spoken like a true reds fan who can only see a team playing in red, if you dont think everton deserved something from that game mate you need to give your head a wobble..

I know that the late goal was hard to take, but Silva, in his after game interview came across a little bitter, cough cough, he spent more time talking about how VVD had miss hit that ball, and getting back into position, rather than saying that Pickford made the wrong choice,
great end to a tough game tho .

{Ed025's Note - for you,s it was mate..

Sorry, ed025, it's a bad habit I fall into sometimes. If you want pure unadulterated praise for an Everton player, I guess I'll have to plump for Jordan Pickford and his extraordinary determination not just to keep the ball in play but to create a game-winning assist from that. ;)

{Ed025's Note - i dont think we are looking for any praise from you mate, but if you are making up stories please start your sentences with "once upon a time""..

Ed025- I get your petulance, Sir. And I have no problem with your blue-tinted analysis. You are an admin/ contributor of repute and I respect that. But, to think this affords you the exclusive right to disapprove an opinion with the likes of 'wobble head' jargons, is not quite adequate of your stature. Being disapproved is not my issue, being disapproved with an upsurge of emotion, rather than fact is.

You could be very well right, but wobbling my head didn't help much.

{Ed025's Note - well worth a try though mate.. :)

ED0333 you basically took the words out of my mouth I was going to say the exact same thing
Im not sure what some fans watched yesterday but this sudden love for Pickford is a joke he is a sub standard keeper
he is young and will for sure improve but any talk about him being great currently, is a joke imo
Alisson is a great keeper potentially right now not Pickford.

{Ed0333's Note - I must say when we signed Becker I was ambivalent because I was judging him on his performances for Roma against us in the Champions League. Ed’s 001 was adamant we’d signed a worldie I wasn’t so sure. I couldn’t have been more wrong. He really has the potential to be the greatest keeper we’ve ever had. That’s not hyperbole or me getting carried away by the wonder save he made yesterday it’s based on my 40 years watching Liverpool play. Johncrow I would say Allison is a great keeper now mate. If Kepa, Leno, Ederson we’re performing to Becker’s standards the world would be eulogizing. 9 clean sheets in 14 premiership games is a super stat.

Clearly this site is no longer one where varied opinions are allowed. Firstly, (as you rather abusively suggest) I did not make love to Marco Silva or anything so sordid. I've actually no doubt where my allegiances are but I try to see things (sometimes) through independent eyes. Next. I did not "b*tch" about Klopps celebration, I actually enjoyed it but thought immediately he will be charged by the FA for it. you should read the post properly. stop cherry picking negative points for your own end! The stats have a different picture from you, you are of course entitled to your view but please do not tell me that I have no entitlement to my view because bad editing on a site leads to conflict and unnecessary comments (I've already had comments on my facebook from a couple of people who know me on there calling me a "traitor". thanks for the abuse. It is utterly disgusting when the members abuse the editors but it is outright abuse of position when an editor decides to be so utterly abusive.

{Ed0333's Note - I have no problem with abuse from any poster. In fact when I’m getting slaughtered I post every negative comment about me. It’s not my style to hide behind a keyboard or edit to my advantage. I have no ideas of grandeouse I’m just an average Joe who has an unhealthy love for Liverpool FC. I try not to ‘cherrypick’ in my editing and try and be objective and fair but sometimes this maybe misconstrued. I just felt you’re post was a tsunami of negativity and a bit ‘the grinch that stole Xmas’ after that ludicrous goal and the joyous post match celebrations. Divvy’s career was derailed because of a player intentionally trying to hurt him in a Merseyside derby, partly the celebrations were karmatic and a legacy of that heinous tackle. Furthermore i hope you didn’t get nasty messages on Facebook because of my reply to you’re post and if you did report them to the police the culprits will get a life sentence without parole. Rise above it mate you’re gonna have bigger problems in life or you could just block them? Also I’m not sure making love to Marco Silva would be so sordid just ask Ed’s 001, apparently he was tender and romantic.

The OP is fooling himself here. There are many other ways to be magnanimous in victory BUT to start by slating Klopp for running on to the pitch for no reason at all or to say we did not play well (which I fuully disagree with) is taking it way too far. To say Everton played well is low hanging fruit cos the only way to go was up from the diabolical crap we saw under The Scam. We created the better chances, the most chances, hit the post and scored a goal, all the things they didn't/ couldn't do.

A derby is there to be won and NOT to just play well in. We won it and that is that. Were we the better team in terms of play? No. Were we the better team in both boxes where games are won and lost? Absolutely. As for Ed25 and his well, "emotions", I fully understand cos I would be livid myself if Allison was on the wrong end of The Anfield Flap.

{Ed025's Note - to be fair red wolf, if we had won 3-0 you would still be saying how brilliant liverpool were and thats ok as far as im concerned mate, in fact i would expect nothing less from you..

I don’t understand this sudden love in over Everton, they did quite well first half but second half I don’t really remember them creating a chance and they were hanging on at the end. This was their biggest game of the season and they still weren’t good enough.
