Last season when we won possession, we were on the attack and through to opponents 18 in seconds before they could react organised themselves. The Brain called this organised chaos. This season, we don't have that “transition”. I think that is the big difference this season.

Last season we won possession high up the pitch due to the press. So when we/ Bobby won it we only needed one pass to create a chance. But this approach also left us exposed at the back because the press left holes. The new approach is working in the league but not so much in Europe. European teams aren't used to getting rushed like we did to them last season so it worked. So somehow we need to be able to play the more stable new way in the league and the last season way in Europe in my opinion.

Spot on, Redwills1. We are trying to find the balance between winning the ball high and countering while at the same time not leaving gaps in behind. That should be the challenge now, IMO.

I think teams that goid enough technically can just pass their way around our press. Like PSG did, and like how sevilla did in europa final etc. The blitzkrieg has massive risk / reward. At the mo it looks like we're trying to manage it and are fetting caught between 2 identities.

We should have different tactics for different games. Tailored to the opposition. That’s the point. Otherwise you’re predictable.

If Klopp is saving the team’s legs early on in the season then vs Napoli is the time to unleash them.
