If you see a terrace house with the front window lit up in red, you’ve found ed025s home. Apart from that not a clue.

{Ed025's Note - i would not even visit a brothel if it had a red light benny, bledd the baltic triangle on the outskirts of the city centre is good mate, loads of boozers not far from town and a visit to peaky blinders there is recommended, matthew st in the city centre is great as well and if you want a late one visit "the grapes" there, have a great time mate..

The Grapes haha class shout Ed, they've always got a lot of great beers on and there are a lot of 'characters' that frequent the place. Definitely worth a visit. Alma de Cuba is fine but extortionately priced - if you fancy a cocktail and go there don't expect anything under 10 quid, which means if you're trying to buy a drink for a lucky lady (as well as a drink for yourself) you're going to be paying, if you only order a pint of beer (close to a fiver in there), upwards of 15 quid.

I think it depends what type of places your into mate, are you looking to dance and listen to thumping music? the concert square and nearby would probably be the go? If you're into old skool music and dancing and stuff then Matthew street all the way. Are you looking for a good craic but without the music? Then as Ed said the baltic triangle is decent, you could try a few gaffs on Bold Street too as they're quite classy and have some great food, or you could head near China town to a few roguish bars that definitely play music (I went to see an up and coming 'punk-metal' band there, awful band but it was a good craic) . If your after quality beer (which I often am) then Hardman Street is the go as near and around there are plenty of great pubs with smashing beer. There's also a whisky bar there with a huge selection of quality whiskys - pro-tip: do not go there after you've already had a skinful, you will inevitable waste a tenner or more or an quality, expensive glass of whisky and be too drunk to truly appreciate it.

There are some strip joints dotted around the centre of town but, having only been to a couple a long time ago, I found them incredibly expensive and not at all fun just awkward and somewhat depressing.

You could also try Bongo's Bingo (around baltic triangle ways) as well - I've never been but it has been reported to me that it is a ton of fun. Make of that what you will.

Alternatively, make your way to Old Swan (my neck of the woods in Liverpool though I now live in Taiwan) and treat yourself to some pints under 2 quid and some everyday theater. My enduring memory from the last time I was home was a mother and daughter and baby coming in, clearly sky high on cocaine, at about 12 midday (I was there watching the World cup - not an alcoholic I promise), chatting the bartenders ear off, sitting down, getting up 5 minutes later to inform the barman that her friend had 's*** herself', then arguing with the barman after her refused to serve her anymore drinks (wise choice), then trying to steal another punters drinks on the way out, then doing the shouty crackhead thing upon leaving like all this was the barman's fault. Good times all round mate!

Depends on what floats your boat.
The Baltic Triangle is full of Hipster-esque venues, but there's probably more variety in a small area for you there. The Baltic Fleet pub is also there and is great. (though Liverpool city centre isn't that big really) .
If real ale is your thing, there are plenty of very good alehouses but the best is the Ship and Mitre on Dale St.
Mathew Street for the tourists - Flanagan's Apple Irish pub (not a rubbish, manufactured Irish pub) is in Mathew St.

Hardman St has plenty of bars on too and some decent food places.
Just wander around and you'll find somewhere.
