Have to admit used to be a fan of Razor Ruddock but my mate just told me he openly admitted to going out with the intention of breaking Andy coles legs and did so as well
Shame as I used to really like him while at Anfield
gone down in my opinion for that comment.

{Ed001's Note - that is nothing unusual for that ****. Really can't stand Ruddock.}

Just read the comments after seeing this! I had no idea! Sounds like a complete bell! What was the view of him around the club Ed01 if you know?

{Ed001's Note - he was a dick and known to be so.}

Didn't this happen in a reserve game Ed? I met him at one of his speaking dinner's, absolutely shi%e I'm afraid, did not enjoy it one bit. Openly spoke about bullying a lot of players actually and about how lazy he was and what he got away with etc etc. Did tell us he came very close to joining Blackburn and had an offer of utd but chose to join us. Worse luck. Only good thing about his night was the bar stayed open till about 5 a. M. Because boy can that man drink.

{Ed001's Note - he was drinking the night before the 'white suits' final, hence why he was dropped as he was seen, according to friends of mine who were there, stood on a table, trousers and pants rounds his ankles, singing and waving his pint about while his nose was smeared in white powder. Then the prick had the cheek to complain about being dropped for the match!}

Turd comes to mind mate, the talent to make it and spoil it by being a goon. More fool him I guess. Thoughts on him as a player? I first remember him at the very end of his Liverpool career so I was maybe 9 or 10.always used to notice him waving aimlessly for an offside flag and looking about 5 stone overweight.

How do players get away with doing drugs? With such regular testing by clubs and FAs, you'd expect a lot more people to have been exposed, unless of course, it's all being covered up.

{Ed025's Note - they get inside information of when a tester is coming zpecialone, just like rio did when he was bang to rights so he then disappeared..

He was useless if we'd have backed Roy Evans with money for a decent defender instead of giving him Scales, Babb and Ruddock we'd have won the league, all 3 were crap but Ruddock was by far the worst.

Wow, Ed01. What a story. I NEVER rated the guy and read that he was a true piece of work BUT he was that bad as in, pants down his ankles, sniffing dope dead drunk before an FA Cup game? Now that, just takes the biscuit for me, really.

Jeez Rio? And all this going on before that final?! 😱
Eds - not looking for actual examples, but is it going on these days as well?

{Ed025's Note - probably mate..

He seems to like getting his bits out when he gets the chance. A bit of an embarrassment really. Certainly not a person for the kids to look up to.

Ruddock epitomised, for me, everything as to why we didn’t do as well as we should have done during that period.

We were coined the “Spice Boys”, some of the senior pros helped foster that instead of working are to kick it into touch.

He didn’t last long under Ged 😄

That was the end of his fun 👍.

I suspect the wife has paid for one of these dinner night things with Ruddock for my birthday, as it’s on in a pub close by and falls on my birthday. Might be putting 2+2 and getting 5, but don’t think so.
Does anyone know any stories that I can bring up that might make him squirm a little?
I did used to like the bloke as a kid, but think he is a tit now.

Fair, ed025, but doesn't cocaine stay in the system for up to two weeks or something like that?

{Ed001's Note - depends on the test used and the usage level. The body metabolises it in something like 4 hours, if I remember correctly, but a standard urine test (as tends to be used in football), will usually find traces for a minimum of 48 hours. The longer term user and heavier user will have traces in their system for longer though.}

Ruddock was an awful player and epitomised theclub at the time, an ex player (maybe Mark Walters) came out recently and said it was a joke at the club around that time and no wonder we did terrible, players didn’t train properly and there was no discipline within the club. Roy Evans has to take a lot of the blame for that as apparently he didn’t have the capacity to bollock anyone and let it all go unpunished.
TSLF- you say Evans wasn’t backed but at the time Ruddock, Babb and Scales were big money signings, record signings for defenders if my memory is correct? So you can’t say Evans wasn’t backed and I’m sure he would have had input on choosing them.
As for drug testing I used to be in the military and had to do plenty of ‘random’ drug tests, plenty of my colleagues did coke but not many fell foul of tests, it’s normally out of your system in 24/ 48 hours and you can flush it out other ways. The tests normally got done on a Wednesday and I think the army did that in purpose as it meant Saturday night wouldn’t show up.

Nothing about Ruddock surprises me. A thug and a bell end, whoever recruited him should be chastised too.

I saw him on "Can't Pay, We'll Take it Away" a while back, and he's still a bellend trying to get away with not paying his way, despite having the money. He was being chased by an owner of dog kennels that he used. He admitted at the end (after failing to pay again) that he will pay her eventually but wants to have a bit of fun along the way!

What an utter $**te!

Remember fowler saying ruddock would cut up shoes and bully the youngsters. Not sure the exact details but was coming back from preseason or a final and he cut fowler shoes. Fowler then got ruddock back and when he woke razor was going mad. THink he hit Robbie on nose but Robbie never went down. And Robbie more or less said considering age and weight difference told you all you need to know about razor. Apparently Robbie wanted a go again after plane landed on runway. The punch razor through could have happened on run way also.

Long story short razor was a bully.

That isn't what I was told about ferdinand, a lad I worked with was best mates with rooneys uncle and went on many a night out with the United team because Rooney is really close to his uncle, the short version of what I was told is, at every top club the players do nothing for themselves, people employed by the club sort out everything for them from dental appointments to car insurance and everything in between, they have to be lead by the hand for everything as the clubs just want them to concentrate on football, ferdinand after training was told he was in for a drug test which he was fine about, he was then left to arse about with the lads in the team and was going on about clothes shopping in the town centre and because he was left to his own devices and not lead by the hand by club officials, he just went shopping completely forgetting the drug test. I'm paraphrasing but that was the gist.

I’m sure he’ll bring up the fact that he was the most expensive defender in the country when Liverpool bought him.

For this reason you can hardly hold it against the owners for not backing Roy Evans tho.

Would you be able to do a legend profile on our old defender razor Ruddock? Great lad altogether. Rock at the back. Cheers mate.
