Oh my. Not now, he was coming back slowly to where he left of. Please tell me it didn't look bad.

Anyone know the extent of the injury?

{Ed002's Note - No but everyone will panic unnecessarily until you find out there is nothing wrong.}

I think seasons should just become shorter and launch all international football at the end of the season rather then breaks, it would mean better international football, probably more interest and saves breaking players out of routines. I know there will be a lot of commercial reasons for it but I wish they would keep it simple.

That what supporters do panic I don't see a problem with that.

{Ed002's Note - Laughable to be honest.}

They’re saying it’s not serious but let’s just get him home.

Can we stop panicking so.

{Ed002's Note - You have to wait until he is blubbering like a little girl - and then you know it stings.}

Salah wouldn't blubber for nothing.

For those of us who pay good money year in year and put the time and dedication to follow the team ( I have some friends that follow the reds home away, all over Europe but I do know and appreciate not everyone can get to see their team play for a number of different reasons so that’s not the point ) - It’s really frustrating to see players injured on what most would certainly see as meaningless games.

I have friends that support different teams and we all feel the same, take Hazard out of Chelsea for instance, injured or possibly injured and my Sloany Pony pals that drink in the best pub on Parsons Green are panicking.

We’ve been carrying him this season.

He needed a break.

Can people stop saying a pointless friendly. He's very proud to play for Egypt and it was an ACON qualifier so to him it wasn't pointless. We may not like the international breaks because it interferes with Liverpool bit can we not belittle what it means for some of our players to represent their country.

How is playing for your country meaningless? It is an honour.

It is a friendly in preparation for competitive games

Would everyone be happy if LFC went into an opening game of the season having not played a single game in preparation since May?

I’m guessing not.

I don’t follow England Agger do so from my side it’s meaningless, everyone to their own.

Whilst players do get injured in season, there always players coming back from international duty injured

Put it this way, Ferguson was quite happy to ensure key players weren’t sent on certain international games to ensure his players stayed fit for the season.

This new crop of younger players are to be fair embracing the national team, many players in past years have only seen international duty as a burden, so it’s not always been an honour.

Dare I say a few weeks out of the limelight might do him some good. Personally I think he’s similar to last season. Each miss seems to hurt him far more though. Hopefully he gets over that soon enough.

Having followed inter'l football for 25 years, it is only in England where the fans think international football is meaningless. Other countries don't think that way, based on my experience. Strange really.

Drogie, your premise lacks any type of logic. When you sign a player, you sign everything about said player INCLUDING the fact that he may have to heed the call of his country. It is such archaic thinking that 25 years ago, led to African players being stopped from going to play for their countries and in fact, some of them got threatened with contract terminations and benching. This is why the FIFA rule exists that you MUST release a player to play for his countries 7 days before the game and if you don't, he is automatically suspended for the next club game. As a result, what you or I are frustrated about is irrelevant here.

Also regarding injuries, the answer is simple. If you don't want to get injured, then DON'T be a professional footballer, end of story. You can get injured rolling out of your bed, in training or in any game so this idea that you don't want to release your players to play for their countries cos of "fear of injury" is ludicrous. Injury is a hazard of the job. If you don't want to get injured in any game or training session, don't train and don't play. Problem solved.
