Ed001 are you like me a little worried mate about our goal threat over the last few games? Is it a case of we are defending more as a unit so conceeding fewer goals and more clean sheets? Or is it down to so many big fixtures over the last 6 games that most players need a rest? Just hope our front 3 click after the international break.

{Ed001's Note - a bit of everything mate. It is still early, plenty of time to get going and we are still right up there despite not playing well yet. All augurs well for when we do get going.}

Mane, salah and firmino have always been underdogs. I especially think Bobby firmino has been under estimated in this league, except by us faithful. Last season we done better than Barcelona, juventus, bayern, Paris, man City in the champions league and now everyone knows about how good our front 3 are. Part expectation and part tight defences has made it difficult.

I don't mind City. They play good good football and they add pressure on utd, who they hate almost as much as we do. They paid us massive respect yesterday with their defensive line. Okay they nearly done us, but if salah had tucked away his chance it would have been different.

I think salah is going to score a cracker soon. A 20 yard screamer and the dam is going to break. I also think we have had the hardest run of games I've known us have in a long time, starting with spurs. Good god what a tough run but like ed01 says, we are still at the top. I honestly think Chelsea will drop off, maybe hazard gets injured. Without him they are not the same team and it will come down to us and City and also spurs, who are quietly enjoying the best start to a season they've had for years.

Klopp and Co know their business, with the front 3 getting tightly marked there is space for the midfield to score goals. I reckon fekir would have been cleaning up in this team. We could really do with an attack minded midfielder.

I have an idea, trent has struggled at times at rb this season and gomez and lovren both played well yesterday. Maybe it is time to put trent in the midfield, as an attacking mid. I reckon he would score tonnes. Who do we have in our midfield known for scoring long range goals? Keita? Milner maybe but we don't really have that in our midfield and it's something we are missing.

So ed I assume your confident we will click up front.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate it will come.}

I hope it does I think it will

Just had a crazy hard run mentally exhausted after it international break for once may be a good thing!

What do you make of klopps subs in comparison to last last season?
He still seems to take for ever for me he needs to act sooner and use the talented bench we have.

That’s the crazy thing. We’re joint top on points and still haven’t even started to reach top gear. Obviously the assumption that it will click is just that, an assumption, but if we do then by ‘eck I reckon we’ll take some stopping! Huddersfield is just what we could hope for as our next fixture, in my mind.

I think we started this run with 6 wins from 6 games and were very confident. Over the last couple of games I’ve seen us happy not to lose. Not very Klopp like but probably necessary given the run of games we’d had.
I heard someone today saying how teams have now worked Salah out and can now defend our front 3.
I disagree with that. We have been creating chances we’ve just been missing them. Particularly in the games against Chelsea.
Salah would’ve scored against City on last season’s form but he seems to be snatching at his chances.
It will come, maybe this international break is just what we needed right now.

I think klopps subs are still not very good. He sets his stall out if it doesn't work for whatever reason he sticks with it then make generally pointless subs with no chance to impact the game. I hope he improves in this department as its a weakness for me.

And to think under 12months ago, Klopp was getting blasted and told his major weakness was unable to defend and win games 1.0 or hold on for a win or draw. poor man can't win. The one thing I keep thinking is. If our defensive side of the game stays this good and our attacking side clicks into gear! Then we will be some force.

as the famous Ian Botham once said, form is temporary, class is permanant . Equal top, have played our 3 main challengers, 2 away from home and normal business will be resumed after the international break. We have now got a top keeper, a more than solid back 4, a midfield which is only going to get better and an attack which will tear some teams apart very soon. We are top and have not fired up just yet, how good is that!

Spot on, Ed. What I fail to understand is that tho we are not at optimum form as a group/ team, we are still in the mix. Isn't this what we all wanted before the season started? To be right where City are? Not only are we not just in contact with them, we are NECK and NECK with them points-wise so where does all this self-entitlement, nonsensical thinking coming out from some in the fan base about how we are crap cos we are not scoring goals for free anymore, come from exactly? People need to chill out and help the team improve instead acting like petulant brats cos we are not spanking teams anymore or have people forgotten how we needed to outright outscore teams to get a win? I haven't.

Yeah, that's a great saying mikeb57, class is permanent. Bobby is a clever player, I reckon he will figure a way to break these stubborn defences down.

Mane

Why not just play Shaqiri there? Rather than Trent in the middle. Shaqiri has pace! Brilliant left foot. Could pick a pass and is a very good finisher as well!
Bernardo Silva wasn’t a midfielder!
