We played well yesterday, but just a few quick points/ questions.
In the second half, I really wanted us to score another goal. But we couldn't seem to thread through their defence. Have we scored a goal from outside the box this season?
The 1 criticism I have, is that we didn't look for more goals in the second half with an urgency. We did attack well I think, but I feel 1 more goal would have put us in a better position to remain top, with goal difference, if Chelsea win today. Which I feel may help going to them next week.
Its that killer instinct that's missing a bit, to finish off a team. Now I know everyone will say 3 nil is finishing off a team, but City woukd have tried for more.

{Ed001's Note - and City have shown how limited a team they are in Europe, so why on earth would we want to be like them?}

City are still benefiting from the fear factor that surrounds them in England. Cardiff are also a woeful team. The more teams try and get at City the more they will realise that there is a soft underbelly there to be exploited, for those with courage at least. I don't think we could say the same about us - sure teams may score goals against us, but I think even this early on in the season we have shown how resilient we are and how difficult teams will find it playing against us. We could've added to our tally as well - City may score slightly more goals but, against opposition who are game, they will likely concede more as well.

3 games in 9 days mate, its called game and squad management, hence why shakira was changed at half time i suspect. Klopp is no mug people, we could have gone all out and had no juice left for Wednesday.

It’s fans like you that create an awful atmosphere at Anfield even when winning 3-0.

The chants of “Is this a library” from the Southampton fans were quite sad, flidby. If you can’t get a stadium singing at 3-0 up then something isn’t right.

Being 1st or 2nd based on goal difference is not important at all in September. The key is to remain within 3-5 points of the first place come the last 5 games.

It actually makes me think its not worth posting here anymore. Did any of you not see the first few words of my post? I said we played well!
Are we less of a supporter if we ask questions that may make us better?
There are 2 parts to my post, 1 was about us not scoring from distance. I feel that teams are going to pack the box, which is going to make ot hard for us to thread through the defence. This was clear in the second half. So buy us scoring a few goals from distance, or even just taking a few shots, will add to our attack, and teams won't just sit back around the box
The second part was not meant as a critism of how well we are playing, it was merely me stating that I would have liked for us to try to win by 4 goals to close down the goal difference or open up a bigger gap. I didn't say we have to start playing like city in every way!
We just need to try and get that killer instinct that we had last season, 1 goal or 2 goals were not enough, the team always tried to score more.

Why do we have to score more when we’re winning 3-0?
Last season we did because there was a good chance we would concede 2 goals in quick succession.

These days, with a more solid defence, we are able to shut teams out. The more we practice this, the easier it will be to win tight games (like finals)
