Regardless of whether the Rabiot news regarding actual contact with the player is true, are there any legs to this rumour in the sense that we are looking to make space for another midfielder in the squad? Would seem strange to chase another holding midfielder when we already have our captain and a new signing who hasn’t kicked a ball yet in that position.

Yor right mate wouldn't make any sense at all going the amount of CMs we have and Lallana Fabinho can't even get in the squad. Ed sais no contact tgat he is aware of so for me its a non starter.

Well assuming the rumours are true he wouldn’t be joining until next summer anyway. I would expect Lallana to move on next summer and possibly Wijnaldum too. Milner will be 33 and can’t keep going forever and there are no guarantees that the Ox comes back the player he was before his horrible injury.

Kramer why wil Wijnaldum move on, he is very much first choice atm. We also have Henderson Kieta Fab etc. You do have a case in Milner but he is certainly our best Mid at the minute imo.

It just doesn't make sense with Rabiot who Barcelona are interested in.

Robomilner has years left in him 😂.

Am I the only one who could Milner moving to Leeds if they get promoted next summer? I'm not 100% sure but doesn't his contract expire this summer?

Milner's 32, Lallana's always injured, not sure whether there's any truth to this rumour or not but I'm sure we could create space for him. Afterall, we were pursuing Fekir in the summmer, and if he'd have signed, he'd have been playing in midfield.

I cannot see Klopp letting both Milner and Lallana go next summer at the same time. It will likely be Lallana moving on for a small fee while Milner gets a short term contract extension. OX will be back next season and Curtis Jones will be looking for game time as well. So where does Rabiot fit in? Gini is not leaving so Rabiot is a luxury signing than a necessity. I can see Klopp drop any residual interest once Barcelona or other interested parties offer the player insane signing on fees and wages that we would be unable to compete with.

Previously, I disagreed with this one idea/ suggestion. Now, with the good options the club has in midfield currently, I think it's the best time to start blending in the youngsters instead of buying.

Two of Lallana, Millner and Gini (based on performances this season) would be expecte to leave end of season.

Think they are trying to get him to sign pre contract although I have no idea how good he is.

I wish we had ox for this season. He wouldve gone out and established himself as a regular started. Shame.

we will probably sell grujic, ejaria, Milner and lallana next year and there you go enough space for Rabbiot. If he really wants to come we should make it happen. Otherwise there is no need as we have enough players.

You're all forgetting that Wijnaldum was close to leaving this summer. Or there was at least talk of it. I don't know if it was from his side or the club's but I wouldn't be surprised if the issue comes up again next summer; especially if Fabinho solidifies his hold on the #6 position, as hoped, later in the season.

It's a squad game these days and if the rumors are true then I would love Rabbiot for next season. I expect either Milner, Wiji or Lallana (or 2 out of 3) to leave next summer which leaves room for Rabbiot. Also, Klopp rotates a lot and the boys will get chances so for me personally, I would love Rabbiot.
