Quick question for everyone, now that the season has started, has anyone revised their assessment of where they think we will finish considering the way we have been playing and despite of the maximum points.

Having read that Neymar thinks we will finish outside the top four, i reflected and still believe we will win the prem. With city, chelsea and spurs close behind.

We always make a sluggish start under klopp while the players find fitness then it just clicks into place. Usually though we suffer a few draws and losses during that period but somehow we are coming out with the wins.

I am optimistic! Thoughts?

Neymar is entitled to his opinion. And most of us know what to make of a player who, despite being supremely skilled, chooses to be a cheat, a faker, and a certified money-chaser, to boot.

LFC is still on course. There'll be dips and off days, but we're the team everyone is looking up at. Unlike previous seasons where we came close and were depending on others stumbling, the sense I get this season is that it is all in our hands and in our control. In the end, it will be a matter of how much the team wants it, over the 38 games.

I certainly think we have a squad and depth capable of winning the league but there’s no point commenting on where we will finish because we are 4 games in.
Based on present performance, I think our team needs more time to gel. But, 4 wins in 4 gives me fantastic optimism - especially knowing that we are not firing all cylinders yet. YNWA.

I initially thought that Arsenal and Chelsea would battle it out for 4th. I've changed a bit. I still think 1st will come down to the final weeks between us and Man City. Spurs in 3rd and Chelsea in 4th.

I backed them to win the premiership @4/ 1 So I think that gets my vote.

I originally thought we’d finish second behind City and right now I’m sticking with that. Obviously I’m delighted that we’ve won 4 out of 4 including at 2 of the toughest away grounds in the league but I still see City as favourites right now.

Either Neymar knows something we don’t after three games or the guy has suffered brain damage whilst spending most of the World Cup on the floor, rolling around, bashing brain cells again his skull.

I suspect it’s very much the latter.

What was the context of neymars comment? I'm assuming he didn't just randomly say we'd finish out the top 4? I assume he was asked about the CL draw but can someone please add did he give any reasons or who he thought would finish top 4?

his comments had a touch of fear in there. I like it.

This is the same Neymar who left Barcelona to join psg so he could come out of Messi's shadow and get world player of the year. That fellow is a clown and even that's insulting clowns.

What else would he have said- Oh its liverpool they will win the league and i am already shivering in my pants on the prospects of facing TAA or robbo. Cuz i know they will keep me in their pockets. and oh the fatality i will get if i even dare perform the neymar roll at anfield. i'd be massacred. I dredd going to anfield on a european night. i hope they don't destroy me. PSG my rolling on the turf arse am already a Madrista in my heart but i fear they might pick mbappe over me and i might get stuck at PSG, oooh i am so jealous of that kid mbappe. God i hate France.

Well he wouldn't have said that would he now?

I think we’re in decent shape and I still think we’ll be second but with a shot at the title. First game was excellent, second was very professional, third a bit out of sorts and fourth we ground out a result.

The most impressive part however has been our maturity in defence, and a much more mature balance between attacking but not over committing when we’re already ahead. We may not have been at our slick best in the last two games, yet every game we’ve still had a clear advantage in chances created and looked reasonable confident at the back apart from just a few minor wobbles.

I think that’s the basis of a real challenge for the title.

Away from us, Chelsea’s impressed me a bit under Sarri, not perfect but I can see them outperforming my expectations and Man Utd underperforming (I was always thinking unlikely they’d be top 4 though! )

we are getting way ahead. we haven't faced any one credible yet. Spurs game will give more insights. Till now we have beaten teams we were expected to beat and its been a great start. id discuss our credentials for the title only by the end of October. we have fielded strong teams in all games, our bench is largely untested and unused. a lot will depend on how Klopp uses our current depth and how clever he is with squad rotation. so its very early to say what will happen but the start has been 100% wins, gives us a great platform to launch.
for me this is the best season to win it unfortunately the most difficult season to win it too but that is what makes it even more worth it. There are 6 genuine quality top teams all want to win it. Three look like winning it.

Neymar needs to leave mind games to the adults, he's not very good at them.

And I don't want to update my prediction - it'll come down to whoever makes less mistakes out of us, City and possibly Chelsea with Mourinho's messing costing United too many early points, Arsenal failing to settle and Spurs just not having the squad.

Neymar would do better to concentrate on his own game. Its pointless asking how he came to that decision because we all know he wouldn't have been watching any game videos. Probably just going on what Gabriel Jesus has been telling him.

Who cares what Neymar or any other non LFC player has to say about where we will finish this season esp. one who will be facing us in the CL? As Phil_LFC said, he'd better concentrate on his game and rid himself of that disgusting, cheating, flopping on the ground attitude he plays with instead us getting himself wound up over LFC. Also, people should stop paying attention/ getting wound up over comments being made by someone who is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. As for where we will finish this season? It's too early to tell and remember, the real PL starts after the int'l break. Have people seen our fixture list?
