I don't care how we gor here but the league table looks so beautiful. Not in all my time supporting liverpool have we won our first four league games.

I said here the other day that Alisson might get caught out with him taking too much time from the back. The signs where there from the brighton game.

Im glad it didn't cost us any point and im very confident that he will sort it out.

Get used to seeing us in the 1st spot mate because that's where we'll end up! Alisson will be a key player for us this season and once we win the league everybody will be singing his praises :) .

Maximum points from first 4 games is nothing to sneeze at. THAT SAID, there were some shocking performances in that game. Bobbie, VVD, Wiji and even Salah, were pretty poor. More importantly, there is something even more concerning than this or Allisson's mistake (for which VVD is part of, by the way), there is something terribly wrong with the way we seem to fade away in the second half of games in the past two games. LFC has had NO shots on target and NO chances created in the past two games. We also lack any kind of energy, direction, and fluidity in our game in second halves and seem very tired, ragged and lack lucidity in the final third. It is early doors still BUT just wanted to point that out. After all, we can be happy with our points haul and still be concerned with glaring issues within the team UPO DA :POOL!

Do think we have looked a little sluggish from after the West Ham game. Yes cool and calm, confident, but maybe too so. Were known for pace urgency fire, but at the moment it feels like watching Brazil play a minnow, and we think were too good.

I think this is all deliberate BRover.
I think it’s part of the Klopp plan. Prior to this season we couldn’t sit back on a 2 goal lead because we were so open at the back. We had to keep going full throttle to win and it was physically draining. Hence we struggled to maintain the consistency and we picked up some injuries in the second half of the season.

This season we are MUCH stronger at the back and we don’t need to score 4 to see the game out. I don’t think we’ve really got out of 3rd gear yet but we have 12 points. Fabinho hasn’t even played yet,

We have a stronger squad by far and a much more solid backline. Things are looking good.

Totally agree Ron, I'm happy getting 3 points and playing badly. When we play the other top 6 teams, our intensity will increase.

It's a long season, we need to save energy. I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing big games to get a lead and then sit back. With our front 3, we'll always be a danger for teams and when they over commit players forward, we can nick another 1.

This will probably be the first and last time I ever say this - but the international break has come at a really good time for us.

Let’s some players ‘reset’ and going away for the first time I can remember on the back off really good results (despite performances)

I imagine going into the break on a lose is the worst, given you can’t get out there to turn things around for another 2 weeks!

I don’t get people saying we played poorly. Thought we looked like a composed side defending (and controlling) a lead. (minus the Alisson howler)

Our attack hasn't clicked yet. It could be world cup hanger over, building up fittness or teams getting better at stoping us from playing.

I think the spurs match would get the intensity up for the players as they look to get revenge for last years drubbing.

I only saw the second half but I agree with BRover. Even if conserving energy is part of a strategy, it could have backfired because we had no cohesion in the passing, looked a bit frail in midfield (which surprised me), and were slow and clumsy on the counter. So we were under pressure for the entire half and could easily have dropped two points. Delighted with our position in the table but I think BRover is right, there are some warning lights flashing. It will be interesting to see what Klopp does to address it.

Great result. Liverpool are not even out of second gear yet. We have a class squad and we really could win this league. We need to pace ourselves.

On the negative, I said earlier that alisson is going to cost us with that messing about. We paid big money for the saves, which we've had, the distribution, which we've had. Not keepy uppies.

Also, last season I really thought salah was being so flukey. Every thing he hit went in. I said mane for top goal scorer and it's looking good. I think salah will go 20+ but I don't think we are going to see 40 odd again. Also I don't like this rivalry between salah and mane. Salah could have passed to mane who would have had a tap in, instead he wasted it. Thought the front three were amazing BTW.

Joe gomez value? 40mil? 50mil?
