The poor me story from Michael Owen on BT sports yesterday ed, did you see it. What a horrible human being.

{Ed001's Note - I don't have BT Sports mate. What was the poison dwarf on about?}

Dont know why people care what these Lfc are like as people, once they did the business on the pitch for us that's all that matters. Think what you like about Owen he had a brilliant career for us, and before the hamstring injuries was on the way to greatness. Im sure some of the legends who won trophy after trophy for us in the 70's and 80's were tossers aswell. People like myself at the time, hated him for deciding to move but many a great player over the years have done similar like Suarez, Torres and Masch. As for joining Utd, a lof of people would have joined them instead of Stoke if they are honest with themselves.

How he tried on multiple occasions to come back and we tried to buy him back after Madrid but Newcastle’s paid more. How’s it hurts him when he was booed in the charity game. Yada yada etc etc.

If you love Liverpool that much you don’t play for United end of.

Said he wanted to rejoin Lfc but they'd only offered £10m and Newcastle offered more. Real's president apparently said you're staying or joining Newcastle. He even had clauses in his contract where he could go to Liverpool for a set amount. Then he joined Man Utd (which he forgot to mention)

{Ed001's Note - he is not quite telling the truth. He wanted to rejoin Liverpool and begged Rafa to buy him but Rafa said he didn't want him back after the way he left. LFC never made an offer. Served the little gutter rat right for the way he acted while with us. He was a horrible little ****.}

Thats my point though, he probably was a horrible little **** but growing up i loved him. One of the few genuinely top top players we''ve had at the club in all the years im watching them. I didn't care if he was a nice guy or not when he won us the cup in 01' for example.

*****him ed. he was past his best anyway. so reckon rafa did the right thing. I hope Newcastle do upset chelsea this eve. it might be good for us. wwre you impressed ed01 with alissn? and please add alisson becker 13 (1 after dec? ) To player profile list🙏🙏🙏great to see salah up and running. i meant both salahs✊✊✊.

{Ed001's Note - even at his best I wouldn't have taken the blert back. He a horrible little rat and would often be wandering around with no sign of a limp or anything when supposedly injured.

I am almost always impressed with Alisson. I said before we even showed interest that he was the one we should go all in for. He has the potential to be the best in the world and is most suited to the way we play. He was probably the best player in Serie A last season.

He is already in the list for a profile as Toe Knee requested him a few weeks back, I just haven't got round to him as I have to watch footage of some of the others on the list as I have not seen enough of them recently to judge them. If I know the player well I can just write it, but I make a point of watching their performance in full games if not before writing one.}

Didn’t Owen run his contract down, refuse numerous times to sign new contract so he could go to Madrid cheap? Wasn’t it 8 million plus Nunez?
Not losing memory now at my age but sure it was something like this, the way he left for what he did showed zero respect for Liverpool, I know for me at the time it wasn’t the fact he left, it was how he did it, can’t stand the little runt, he needs to stick to his race horses rather than spouting a load of rubbish on tv.

{Ed0333's Note - He is a crap pundit for starters. He personifies boring. Micheal Owen makes Ian Wright look like a world class pundit and that’s virtually impossible. So I listened to his impassioned monologue yesterday on BT Sport and I’m livid. He basically said for the last 7 years of his career he wanted to retire because he hated playing knowing he wasn’t the same player he used to be and was petrified of sprinting because he knew he’d rip a muscle. Well I bet the Newcastle, Man United and Stoke fans are endeared to read that. He’s basically admitted that he’s stolen a living for 7 years. We fans pay their hard earned money to watch our heroes the last thing you want to hear is that. Owen would have been better off not saying anything and kept the ounce of credibility he had left in the eyes of supporters. I cannot diminish his achievements with Liverpool he was some player and it’s a shame injuries curtailed his career but as a man he not worthy of my respect for a multitude of reasons. Furthermore I really don’t understand why BT Sport persist with him he’s not engaging, articulate, has no tactical nous and looks like he’s just woken up. I bet his horses can’t stand him either.

Also didn't he refuse to play in Champions league qualifier for us so as not to be cup tied? I might be making that up but it rings true.

{Ed001's Note - well ignoring big emre's nonsense about how great Owen (who missed multiple sitters a game and was never destined for greatness) would have been, he was a complete knob and bullied and sulked and pouted to get everything his own way. He was nothing like the Shankly or Paisley players, as neither of those managers would have put up with players acting the way he did. It is ignorance to suggest otherwise.

As for refusing to play in games, yes he did refuse to play in at least one game when trying to get his move to Madrid. I can also remember at least one occasion my uncle accosting him (they are neighbours) and giving him grief as he was sauntering about with not a sign of injury because he simply didn't fancy the game coming up. Oh and it was him who told Ged he wanted to play with Heskey, which is why we bought him and then would complain every time Fowler got a game and ended up forcing Houllier to choose between him and God. Ged messed up and chose the wrong player as Fowler was better by a miles when fully fit and both had their injury struggles so it was an decision by Ged but he liked the pace and had the whole system built around getting the ball to Owen. Very similar to the way Real Madrid played over the last few years with Ronaldo up front, where their whole team plan was based around creating chances for Ronaldo at the expense of the rest of the team.}

Why don't we just get 25 really nice, help your granny across the street lads to be in our squad! They don't have to be great, just have to be likeable like Heskey or Mignolet. im sure we'd do fine.

{Ed0333's Note - why are you digging a bigger hole for yourself mate? Your gonna get dogs abuse. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

9.) 26 Aug 2018
26 Aug 2018 17:46:36
Not nonsense because you don't agree Ed. when he came on the scene he was as good for his age as Mbappe is now! Look beyond whether he's a p***k or not. He was absolutely brilliant as a kid.

{Ed001's Note - he was a good impact sub, nothing more. Your childish infatuation is just clouding your view and making you biased. He was never ever on the same level as Fowler. It is utter hyperbole to compare him with Mbappe, or idiocy, or ignorance. You choose, I don't care you are talking nonsense.}

I still like Owen, nothing can take away his 2 goals against Arsenal in the 2001 FA Cup final.

11.) 26 Aug 2018
26 Aug 2018 18:03:12
Not idiocy or ignorance. and why would i care about abuse from strangers. The ignorance is to not accept someone elses opinion simply because you don't like a player. By 21 the "kid"as we would call the likes of Gomez or Solanke had 80 odd goals for liverpool with 5 trophies, double figures in goals for his country and a ballon d'or in his pocket. Like him or not, he was brilliant. That can't be disputed. not by anyone who's looking at it from a pure footballing perspective.

{Ed001's Note - I give up, you are too biased to discuss it with and the idiotic jump to trophies won in a team game just shows it is pointless to discuss this with you. I have no problem with an opinion that isn't based on masturbation over someone but is instead based on a balanced viewpoint. He was an excellent player but nothing like the world class talent you are trying to make out. This is nothing to do with my like or dislike of him, unlike you who clearly has to have his posters laminated and so can't take anyone else thinking differently. You carry on la, nothing like a childish crush to remove the little sense you might once have had.}

Big emre
Yes Owen was a good player
Yes he scored goals
But that’s it, he wasn’t good for the team and I’m sorry I remember vividly losing fowler, this was due to Owen, Owen wasn’t in Fowler’s league, hence the nick name GOD.
Owen could’ve been great, Liverpool brought him through and gave into what ever he wanted, in return he decided to not turn down a new contract but run it down to the last year, then force a move to real for 8 million plus nunez.
He’s not someone who should be mentioned in the same breath as fowler or any other Liverpool great.
Don’t car how many goals he scored he’s a little runt and that was before he played for Man U .

26 Aug 2018 20:33:49
In the program he came across as someone who had a God given talent for being a brilliant finisher but couldn’t give a conker about football clubs or fans.

Horse racing is his passion, not football.
He was great for us, fair play to him. That’s about as nice a I can be about him.

14.) 26 Aug 2018
26 Aug 2018 20:43:40
Owen was only ever about pace. hoddle was spot on about him not being a natural finisher. and got pelters for it.

A nob end of the truest sense and I for one can't even watch that cup final, as I feel tainted and dirty by him.

15.) 26 Aug 2018
26 Aug 2018 21:54:33
One way to look at it. Owen never managed 20 goals in a league season. What sort of top striker in that era never scored 20 in a season.

Just one question for Ed001, I heard that Owen would bully the young lads at the club into playing poker so he could take their money off them, any truth in that?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}
