Last season an injury to clyne presented trent with an opportunity which he grabbed with both hands now he's 1st choice right back could the same happen foe gomez now too with lovren and Matip not being fit I think if we continue keeping clean sheets he has to stay in.

{Ed025's Note - you wont be playing west ham every week though cod..

Yeah, but we still have to play everton ed025 😉😉.

{Ed025's Note - we will be up to speed by then shayan, and you failed to beat us last season and our squad has improved..you do the math..

Actually Alexander-Arnold looked out of sorts today. His passes in were way to far ahead today. We could have had two more goals if they were weighted properly. That being said. I think it's just opening season jitters.

Solid start by the reds and although it was a poor West Ham you can only smash what’s in front of you. Liverpool will be up to speed to ed025 don’t forget plus with fat scam not your manager you might actually want to win the game haha. Good luck to the blues mate be good to see them pushing on as well and make the city of Liverpool once again the best for football as well as culture 👍🏻
Up the pool.

{Ed025's Note - amen to that redan mate..

More teams will finish below West Ham than above them Ed025, I have them, Everton and Leicester fighting for 7th-9th.

{Ed025's Note - they will have to improve dramatically then den, liverpool were very good but they were woeful mate..

Personally I've not understood all the hype about WH the past few weeks, all because they sign a few players? lol it means bugger all unless your adding top quality which is what they have not done. Some may say they need time to gel, sure but I still don't see them doing anything special this season. They got excited about signing Wilshere, that just says it all for me.

They'll be in a similar to position (13th) as last season imo, if not lower going on that performance today.

Everton I do see doing well, aslong as it's not against us then I'm not fussed and wish them the best of luck.

Think that was the final nail in the coffin for Jagielka Ed? Can't keep playing forever.

{Ed025's Note - hes been a good servant RTID but he is past his best, we have mina and zouma to come in though and holgate so we should be ok i hope mate..

Ed025, we did beat you in the FA cup. And you’re not the only one who’s improved. We’ll hopefully thrash you this time around.
But on another note, really hope you guys do well this season but obviously not against us.

{Ed025's Note - i was clutching at straws shayan, the reds look ominously strong this season and i believe you have everything in place to win the league, only city and maybe injuries to key players can scupper that mate so good luck..

They weren’t very good but I put that down to us completely outplaying them, we will batter most teams at Anfield this season it doesn’t make them pants. I’m reserving judgement on Everton at the moment, they looked OK yesterday but Wolves didn’t want to go after the game even with a man advantage, i was really disappointed with them bar Navas and the Mexican striker.

An Everton fan wishing us good luck. Ed25 you are truly a good bloke.

{Ed025's Note - im a football fan and a scouser ace, my 2 lads are die hard reds and although im a massive everton fan i dont have a problem with them winning, i watch a lot of their games with mates who are blue and red equally and even though we have differing opinions and debates it never goes beyond that, i am of the older generation who are more tolerant and magnanimous than that of the younger supporters mate who seem to think fighting over football is acceptable...which is sad really..

I get that completely ed. My house is split by a basketball rivalry and we always root for the other team as well. (SO long as we aren’t playing each other) . When I first became a Red I thought I should probably inherently root against Everton, but I decided despising all things Manchester was a much more sane approach :) .

{Ed025's Note - i dont think i actually despise anyone Tj, and especially not just because they support another football team mate..

'i am of the older generation who are more tolerant and magnanimous than that of the younger supporters mate who seem to think fighting over football is acceptable'

Exactly Ed25, hit the nail on the head there mate, so true. I know there's some good young supporters out there who don't take football in general too seriously but there's many youngsters who go way too far. It is indeed sad mate, unfortunately it's something we'll probably always see.

{Ed025's Note - sadly your right salah, i used to love derby games and proud of the fact that we were the only supporters in the land who walked and sat together at matches be you a blue or a red, that culminated in two memorable cup finals that was the pinnacle of my footballing life even though we lost both, im a sad old duffer now and prefer to watch games from my armchair and edit on here, im not turning this into a one man crusade though as it is what it is mate and see it as more of a social problem than a football one..

Ed025 mate I would love nothing more than to meet you for a bevvie or 10.

{Ed025's Note - it would be nearer 10 barry and i would enjoy that very much mate, its going on my bucket list..

AH you know what I meant ed025. I don’t hate them, but I sure root against them in every match they play. I guess the one thing I hate about Manchester (United and city) is when they win!

15.) 13 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 23:18:30
I've had 10 and I luv you 025.

{Ed025's Note - that could be the ale talking then IDLLK.. :) i will still be giving your lot a bit of stick when the opportunity arises though mate..

Ed 25 that is one thing I loved seeing - a proper Derby game and fans sitting together. You get families split with both reds and blues. Mates are the same, as long as the respect is there then why can't they sit together. Always a great sight tbh, good luck this year too.

{Ed025's Note - yeah bill the last time i went to a derby was a few years back and i found it very toxic, it was at goodison and things were being said and sung by both sets of fans that made me ashamed to be a scouser mate...sad really..

Agree completely Ed025. Growing up a red, I actually saw more Everton games than ours as my best mate had 2 season tickets to Goodison. When you're 10, you take what you can get. I had no problem wearing a Liverpool shirt sitting in the Gladys watching Everton, and nobody ever game me a problem, even when I was getting into my mid teens. I too have fond memories of piling onto the train at Lime St heading to Wembley with red and blue mixed in together as far as the eye could see. The good old days when "Merseyside, Merseyside" was heard echoing around Wembley.

{Ed025's Note - halcyon days indeed them burkey, i was on them trains and in the pubs around wembley where we were all singing together and took over the capital for 2 days, its not like that now unfortunately and i know im probably out of touch and be labeled an "arl arse" but i feel this generation is missing out on something that set us apart from the others mate..
