Another amazing performance from Shaqiri. He's got to be pushing for a first team place. Could he play the Coutinho role?

I think he could flidby. Let's see how he is tactically. I mean, he is massive, surely he can tackle well. If not he could be turned into a number 8 or no10? Klopp is like that. Buys a acm and turns him into a solid dm, gini bossing man City last season.

I would play him behind the striker, no10 role. But who gets dropped? We have such a wealth of players.

I thimk gini will start at West ham, he wasn't at the world Cup, I'm guessing he is one of the guys Klopp was talking about, when he said, some are at the level others are not.

I imagine fab, keita and gini will start. They might swap gini for shaqiri. He is continuing to prove us doubters wrong. Lallana has a shout too.

Sunday seems a lot closer now!

He is definitely the real deal if we go by what he has shown thus far in pre-season. I hope he can keep his attitude in check. I know it's been said but I'll just repeat it; in Sturridge and Shaqiri we have very capable understudies for the front 3 and even the AM slot.

The player who has worried me is actually Fabinho. Seems off in terms of timing of passes and even positioning. It was strange for Klopp to ask him to play CB for a half, instead of Klavan, but I guess Klopp sees it too and wanted to maximize game time for him.

Thing is sturridge made of glass and lallana the same not too mention matip hope our squad stands up through the course of the season.

{Ed025's Note - thats the only reservation i have about liverpools title challenge hailstones...the strength in depth of the squad, injuries to the likes of VVD or salah especially if they are long term could be a disaster mate..

ArAy - Shaqiri won't be an understudy, not if he plays like that all season.

Ed25 - I wrote the other day about Gini having a cracking season ahead, I still think it's going to happen after tonight's match!

{Ed025's Note - never seen the game adam but i just dont know where he fits in mate..

Totally agree. Gomez also has a weaker side with injuries.
I’ve said it all along, another quality CB for me.

I disagree, heavily. Fabhino's positioning is probably been one of his best assets. He plays the role that gets over looked, same as hendo and gini. I reckon fab is on a par with hendo. His passing has been impressive.

I didn't watch the game last nivht.

What was great to see ed025 was Wijnaldum working his bollocks off. He looked like a player possessed at times and finished off a cracking move with a well taken goal to be fair, and was very close a 2nd time. He worked tirelessly the whole first half. Obviously i don't know the ins and outs of the club wanting to sell/ him wanting to leave etc. But what was nice is he certainly played like someone that was desperate to be factored into our plans for the coming season and that was nice to watch. To now be able to attract players with our style of football and fend off bigger opposition and have current squadies wanting to play their hearts out for a chance to contribute shows me that we're on the right path to making steps towards a future rather than living off a distant memory.

On a side note, Shaqiri is looking like the bargain of the season. I questioned his attitude and application when he was linked but he's like a totally different player to the guy we saw at stoke. he's unselfish, pressing like no-ones business. Its really great to see.

{Ed025's Note - i suspect gini knows he has to up his game to stay at the club smallsy, last season he put in a lot of lethargic performances imo but now competition means unless he knuckles down and puts a shift in he could be shown the door, shaqiri has done well and is another who must see this as the last chance saloon and that can only be a good thing for the club mate..
