And Shaqiri looks like a steal for 13mil. We'll see how time plays out with him but he's obviously got loads of ability and seems made for this level. If he can sustain a work rate to go with it then there's lots of oppportunity for him and reason for us all to be excited. Main thing though, its going to be a real privilege to watch and support this team this year.

He’s grabbed that No2 striker spot and shown that he wants it and is better than anything else we have that could play CF. A poor start to the pre season and he could be at the likes of Palace or Stoke now but the kid looks ready to fight and battle and is humble enough to know he has to wait for games. Great turnaround in fortune for him, it’s deserved after all the problems he’s had.

Shaqiri has a great footballing brain as well as being very talented. He seems to slot in effortlessly and reads the game so well. A great buy at £13 million.

Good performance all round and an entertaining game for the capacity crowd in Dublin.

i don't like to question the integrity of a proffesional player. but i think mo must have offered their keeper a signed shirt at half time if he just pretended he was on our team for the 2nd half ;p.
