Well, that's another glimpse of Fekir and I still don't know what all the fuss is about?

A ten minute sub appearance isn’t really fair to judge.

He’s played an average of 10 minutes per game. If you can tell anything from that you are the greatest judge of players in history.

Wow judging a player on 10 mins.

For the short time he was on. And fact France were happy sitting in holding their lead. I thought Fekir showed nice close control and footwork to hold onto ball or draw foul.

Basing an attacking players performance on a 10min substitute appearance when his team are 2 goals up and trying to hold out for the final whistle.

"That Salah guy must not be any good given his world cup performances? don't see what the fuss is about. " Basing a players ability on a couple games let alone 10min is absurd.

Tough to judge him based on his appearances in Ligue 1 as their league is utter shabbyte.

I'm not saying don't sign him but he's had 25 x mins v Australia, 15 x Peru, 25 x Denmark, 10 x Argentina and 15 x Croatia and not shown anything out of the ordinary really.
He looked flat footed too, not particularly quick.
So my first impressions are not that impressed, that's all.

Yikes, Juicer! And you were able to make that out after watching him sporadically during the WC instead of doing some research to see how good this guy is (Youtube does not count as research) . That is just plain lazy.

I wouldn't say he's been flat footed, showed some lovely quick feet even in his 10min in the final in order to draw a foul. He's definitely not quick but he's hardly slow and its important to note he's more of a CAM then a winger. Ligue 1 may not be the most challenging but he's looked immense against PSG in the league as well as teams abroad in the Europa League.

Hasn't the premiership player of the year, not been won by players (Hazard, Mahrez, kante) brought in from the French league 3 of the last 4 seasons? Salah being the other winner. Yes the standard might not be up there with the premiership. But it certainly produces very good players.

Why does he keep getting only 10 minutes.

he’s played (roughly) 90 minutes over the entire tournament. Bit unfair to judge him on that to be honest, 10-20 minutes when france are usually seeing out the game is not worth attempting to judge an attacking player. Maybe defenders and deep midfielders yes but not anybody who's main role is to get forward and initiate attacks.

Deschamps is the man to give that question to.
Klopp likes Fekir, his judgement is good enough for me.

Not many would get many minutes competing with Griezeman and mbappe.

The OP said "from what I've seen he doesn't look all that special" or something roughly like that and it's actually a valid comment. Fekir hasn't played much but he also hasn't been amazing when he came on. He's looked tight and you can see he is technically sound but he hasn't done much if we're honest.

I don't watch the French league and I'm not alone in that, and for us this world Cup has been our chance to see fekir.

The Op didn't write the guy off, sounded more like a plea of reassurance that fekir is a decent player from those more knowledgeable about ligue 1.

Hendo, what? He said "Well, that's another glimpse of Fekir and I still don't know what all the fuss is about? "

Felt like I was back in school doing English with the teacher reading faarrr too much into what an author said haha

Anyway op doesn't see what the fuss is about and yes that is fair enough in only watching the world cup, but if you want to judge him on world cup cameos you might as well just watch YouTube clips (NOT the skill/ goals ones), search for "player name" vs "team name" and they’ll show every touch and off the ball stuff also.
Or trust Klopp and the millions of posts about how good he is xD.
