I feel for Karius I really do, yes I know he's made mistakes but his treatment has been pretty poor from the get go. He's always going to be under the spotlight no matter what he does and I also think he's never going to be allowed to recover and grow. We need another keeper for his own sake.

I completely agree with you there mate it's unfortunate but sentiment has too go out of the window he is not a top 6 keeper and will b targeted by players on the pitch an fans off it, all the social media abuse and threats is disgusting but on a very real note for the good of the team we need a new keeper . Even before the champs league final he was a liability and no better than mignolet both good shot stoppers good 5 or 6 games then bang mistake here mistake there . Sorry but let's not make mistakes and be stubborn trying too turn water into wine WE NEED A NEW KEEPER!

Problem is now. He could play well for 1st 12 games of the season. And then let a dubious goal in at near post, and the media, pundits and unfortunately a section of our own fans would be all over it again, and completely disregard his run of good form. Feel so sorry for the lad. We can say he's a professional earning obscene money. But at the end of the day he is a human playing the game he loves and worked all his life for and it's just going so wrong at the moment.

If he's got the strength of character that Klopp believes he's got then he's not done here yet.
It's literally in his hands.
Wait for all the fuming to start when he's numero uno at the start of the season. Klopp will give him his chance I believe, despite all the hand wringing and knicker wetting on here and other sites.

Doesn't matter what keeper came in. It could be Oblak, Alisson, De Gea or even Buffon in his prime - the goalie position at Anfield will generate so much scrutiny it will be untenable.

We either back karius to be mentally strong and become an outstanding keeper or play an extra outfield player with an option to wear a pair of gloves.

There really is no other option. Whoever comes in will face a barrage of abuse the first time they concede.

It will have been easier taking over fergie's aging squad!

Coco, that's not a fair test, any goalkeeper good enough to appear in the PL had the ability to put a run of good performances together. It's the consistency that's key.

Robert I disagree. This level of scrutiny has only Been the years of james, Westerveld, Dudek. With reina we were well pleased and it wasn't an issue. We knew we had a good keeper again. It started again with migs and know Karius. I hate to say it but it's coz they ain't good enough and we can all see it.

When we get a safe pair of hands in the net, we see it and appreciate it and it won't be an issue. I think even butland would be an improvement. I keep going back and forth with him. Is he good yes or no?

we shall see, i believe he has it in him to come out of this. he's not the best gk sure, but unless we're getting a proper upgrade, id rather stick with him.

hes made mistakes sure, but he was also part of the team that got us to the champions league final.
