Thanks ed good, fair review I think!
Looking through that I hadn't realised he had quite so much in his trophy cabinet, has lack of work rate and selfishness affected him at previous clubs? Or is it a case of thinking he is too good for stoke?

{Ed001's Note - he has always played the same way, you have to remember that a lot of those trophies he was only a squad player for. It is about being at the right club, rather than him being a major part in them winning some of them.

A lot of his problem with Stoke is that no one has come in for him. He thought he would go there, show how wonderful he is and have half the Prem kicking down the door trying to sign him. He just had a bit of a sulk on because no one did.}

Nice one ed01, thanks mate. You're very complimentary on his abilities. He can play, I know, but I don't think he's consistent at all. I was surprised at how many trophies he's won though. Quite a haul eh?

Part of me thinks his brother is just parading him in the media with big clubs like us, utd and spurs In the hopes of getting him a better new deal. Ya know making him seem more desirable to potential suitors.

To be objective, I sometimes find myself thinking. "he could be good, if he trained hard. Supplying the front three and giving us good set piece delivery" in the end I can't help thinking of his comments about his Stoke team mates, fight at the vital time too. I hate to agree with Gary Neville but it IS a disgrace.

Has he ever played much as an attacking mid? Could he play there?

{Ed001's Note - I say what I see, to paraphrase Mr Roy Walker. There is not the interest in him that he would like and had hoped for because he has not impressed.

He has played there a few times that I have seen, particularly towards the end of Mark Hughes reign at Stoke. Hughes gave him free rein to do what he wanted, in the hope he could produce something to rescue the team from the doldrums they were in. It was the same old story, flashes of ability mixed in with long periods of doing absolutely nothing apart from complaining.}

Roy Walker had quite a Catchphrase didn't he lol
I think Shaqiri could be quite good if he just had a better attitude and it does make you think if he would be truly suited to klopp's gang.
If he does come I would be quite suprised
Good article as per usual ed cheers.

{Ed001's Note - tight arse though is Roy Walker.

I doubt there are many players out there less suited to Klopp's way of playing to be honest.

Thank you very much mate.}

No, very fair ed01. Its not like he's a kid and is going to change dramatically in his approach. A good write up, I appreciate it dude.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much.}

Was it painful Ed to write something about such a man? lol very fair profile on him to be honest. I can't stand him one bit but I can't argue with anything you have wrote there mate.

If he wasn't so selfish and thought more about his team over himself he'd probably be a bit of alright but that's just who he is, a selfish player who is only bothered about himself and not his team mates, he always acts like the team owes him something because I'm sure he believes he's some sort of special player. He's a fool to himself.

Brill as always Ed, thank you mate hope you're having a good evening.

{Ed001's Note - he was being lauded as the 'Alpine Messi' and it went to his head. We have seen the same thing with Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar, they become demanding and selfish, sometimes, as good as they are, to the detriment of their team. A lesser talent like Shaqiri is even more detrimental when pandered to, as he doesn't produce the individual moments of quality anything like as much as those three.}

True mate, I don't know how he has the nerve to think he's quality to be honest. Imagine him at Liverpool? with the player's we've got along with the youngsters they'd put him to shame and he'd spit his dummy out because he wouldn't be the center of attention.

I hope to Christ we don't sign him.

{Ed001's Note - he does have ability, just not as much as he thinks and it is not much use when it is not combined with effort.}

Do you think Klopp could get him playing to a better standard ed given time? A decent back up imo if he is happy to play back up.

{Ed001's Note - did you not read it? If you have read what I said then the answers are right there.}

Sorry ed, my bad. Read it again properly and not rushed like I was first time trying to get my bloody kids into there pits for the night😠.

I for one wouldn't mind him signing, I think he would offer decent cover from the bench.

{Ed001's Note - if he is 'decent cover from the bench' then he is a free or a waste of money. Buying players for the bench is a mistake, no team does anything but go backwards by buying players who are worse then they already have.}
