Ive been watching allison in every game since the champions league 1st leg vs us and i honestly can't see what the fuss is all about with him. Flaps at crosses and his kicking is atrocious. Im not saying he is bad. But for the money people are saying he would cost id rather keep karius.

02 Jul 2018 16:49:07
Whether or not karius feels he has a home at anfield after all the death threats is another thing unfortunately.

2.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 17:21:38
I haven't seen much of him but I can't see what all the fuss is about if I'm honest. That said, keepers don't shine in every game. He's no David de gea though, more a kasper smicheal from what I've seen.

3.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 17:29:57
If we’re not prepared to stump up for Oblak, all the other touted options are a false economy.

4.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 17:31:31
Now we've had time for the dust to settle I really don't think we've seen the end of Karius. He had 1 bad game. It was the media saying "he's played his last game at this level" no one from the club has said anything like that. Those in the business know that people have bad games and I don't think they would ditch a 1st team asset for one poor performance. The truth is he had started playing really well and I don't see a professional outfit like Liverpool having a knee jerk reaction. I don't see the point in signing the likes of butland, smicheal or chilleson as Karius is easily at their level. I was one of the first to say "we need a new keeper" but I'm starting to change my mind. Karius was improving and if he's the keeper come the start of the season then I'll be alright with that.

{Ed025's Note - then you are easily pleased my friend..

5.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 17:37:58
Nah I'm not ed025, I just don't think liverpool will stump up for Alison or oblak, I expect them to stick with Karius and I'm preparing myself, mentally, for that.

{Ed025's Note - i think you may be right PH, however that does not mean its the right decision mate..

6.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 17:48:54
FMS- I reckon you’re probably a keeper, given your strong options on the matter. Now that you have nailed your colours to Oblak’s mast- what are your thoughts re him currently playing in a very defensive set up, and how/ whether he would adapt to LFC’s style? Thanks.

7.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 18:10:52
I think he could easily adapt. The point is that when he’s called upon, he’s ready and never loses focus or concentration. Has incredible reflexes and rarely gets beaten by a soft shot or on crosses, unlike Navas, Schmeichel, Pope, Cillessen or Butland who each have flaws in their games, Navas, Schmeichel and Cillessen being the worst offenders. He’s the only keeper in world footballer on a par with de Gea. Get Oblak in and that’s the keeper position sorted for 10 years. Get any of the others and you’ll all be demanding a new keeper next season.

8.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 17:46:46
I'm torn about butland. He has had injury problems and is not adverse to the odd mistake. He could be a brilliant keeper but atm he is behind even pickford who is good but not great.

If you were reds manager ed025, what would you do dude?

{Ed025's Note - i would pay the dosh for either allison or oblak PH, a top keeper is worth about 10 points a season in reality and that could mean the difference between winning the league or not, easy to say i suppose as its not my money mate..

9.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 18:42:57
Frankly could I borrow your time machine when you are done with it? Cheers.

10.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 18:45:14
Ed025 could not agree with you more. Oblak is worth 10-15 points a season and at 25, he’s a ten year investment. Why skimp and end up with dregs like Navas or Cillessen?

{Ed025's Note - thats my view as well FMS, if the reds get oblak then i would fancy them for the league, if they stick with calamitous then i think you may come up short mate but thats just my view of course..

11.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 18:49:07
Kramer, so if we sign Navas and he makes the sorts of blunders he regularly makes for Madrid, you’d be happy with that? He makes Bogdan look competent.

12.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 18:49:21
I didn't see the game. Did he throw the ball to a Mexican striker and drop one in his own net like Karius in the champions league final?

13.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:00:05
Blimey LiverpoolFC8 that was savage!

14.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:12:19
I’d be happy with Butland to be honest and I’m not going to slate any player who we are linked with because then you get people saying things like the Ox is no better than Andros Townsend.

15.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:25:29
Athletic Madrid are in a similar situation to Liverpool. 3rd 4th in the league trying to catch the Barcelona and Madrid. Why would they even consider selling oblak? If he is that good then would they sell him?

I think Liverpool's ucl run and recent signings put us on the notch above athletic Madrid and I firmly believe we are the better team. If it was a case of 70/ 80 mil for oblak and he would sign, Madrid would sdll then I agree with ed025 and everyone, sign him.

The next oblak, de gea must be out there though.

16.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:31:04
Happy with either Oblak or Alisson and it is long overdue that Liverpool take this issue seriously. We have not had a great keeper since Grobelaar and that is too long. Almost 30 years for goodness sake. And we wonder why we are still waiting? Every time I read “I’d be happy with Butland” or “What about Schmeichel? ” it makes my blood boil.

17.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:46:12
Kramer, so if we were linked with Wayne Rooney you’d not criticise that? Ridiculous comment.

18.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:03:12
Ed025, a keeper like him gives defenders confidence and attackers doubts.

{Ed025's Note - exactly mate..

19.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:40:10
Calamitous, haha.
Is that your own Ed025 or off social media somewhere?

{Ed025's Note - my own juicer, i think its very appropriate mate.. :)

20.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 19:53:14
Not if Klopp wanted him, I trust that the manager and scouts know more than me when it comes to players. I don’t think I am the utmost authority on players and I don’t think I know more than everybody else.

21.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 21:29:53
Reina had some great seasons. We always had a great defensive record with him in the sticks although that probably had something to do with Hypia and carragher.

22.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 21:31:15
Butland B4 anyone please please please. If oblack was to come it would only be for 2 seasons then the top teams will come calling.

{Ed025's Note - liverpool are a top team walter..

23.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 22:06:12
I disagree ed025, we’re not a “top team”.

We have only won 1 league cup in 10 years. Only 1 of our last 4 managers have won anything. We rarely compete in our domestic league.
If we were a top team Torres, Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho wouldn’t have been agitating for moves.

{Ed025's Note - maybe i should have said clubs ron, with its history liverpool are one of the biggest in the world and will always attract top talent, yes a few have left but that happens in football and for me its money orientated rather than winning things but then again im a sceptic, under klopp the good times are just around the corner mate and as much as it irks me to say it i have a lot of respect for the club..

24.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 23:12:06
For me, I deal with reality. There is a diff. btw what you want and what you can get. We all want a top GK to come BUT clearly, we are not going to get the Oblaks and Allisson of today so to me, no point talking andd getting frustrated with things that you can't control. It relieves a lot of stress. Keeping Karius may not be the right decision BUT hey, if the manager feels that the GK's he wants are not available, he may not want bandaids like Butland, Pope or "insert young GK here" who won't fix the prob almost immediately.

Remember, if say Butland came, he will make his mistakes as well during the bedding in process and what will happen then? People will lose their marbles again and say, "we might have just let KArius build his form co at least we know what he can or can't do" stuff cos you know, that hindsight thingy makes people sound like geniuses.

We all know that Klopp does not settle for players he does not want. I think the only one he settled for was Robbo and he did a great job with him as he is very coachable. If Klopp wants to settle for Karius cos at least, he knows where to improve him esp. mentally, I suggest people get with the program and get behind him cos till he leaves this great club, he is one of us and deserves all our support, mistakes or not. I know he has mine.

25.) 02 Jul 2018
02 Jul 2018 23:39:25
I remember a certain Ronaldo leaving United when they were winning stuff. And United were just about THE top team then.

26.) 03 Jul 2018
03 Jul 2018 02:17:14
Liverpool played real Madrid for the champions league. We have Firmino, salah, Henderson, keita and van diike. Of course we are a top team.

We are the only team who really handled City, not to mention roma, porto and others. We out scored every other team in Europe. Again, we are a top team.

27.) 03 Jul 2018
03 Jul 2018 04:32:50
If the Champions League finalists aren’t a top team then you must have a very narrow definition of a top team.

28.) 03 Jul 2018
03 Jul 2018 19:59:10
Spot on, Kramer and Prince. If a team that has reached the EL and CL finals in two out of the last 3 season, is not a top team then such people need to explain to us their definition of a top team cos I am totally lost.

29.) 03 Jul 2018
03 Jul 2018 22:52:41
A top team wins trophies. League titles mean more than knockout trophies. Ed002 will help you with the reasons players leave but it’s generally money, profile and success.

We don’t have an issue with money or profile, we do with success.
