Ed 001 what's your opinion on Neymar? Do you have him 3rd behind messi and ronaldo? And what do you think of the treatment he gets from opposition players? Everytime I watch him play he gets kicked all game more than anyone.

{Ed001's Note - he is a show pony, more about tricks for the sake of doing tricks and humiliating opponents than effectiveness. He deserves every kick he gets. Ability wise he is equal to anyone, but he is a large step down from the top two because of his attitude. If he could harness his talent towards doing the best for the team then he would be. As it is he is difficult to rank because his attitude makes his contribution very inconsistent.}

I meant to say that is why he looks so much better for his country, as it is more about the team when he is in a Brazil shirt.

Neymar full of talent but unfortunately not application lazy as hell and has one of the worst attitudes I think I have ever seen from a footballer
The way he has treated Cavani is nothing short of a disgrace and it happened more then once
In years to come when you mention the Brazilian greats Ronaldo Romario Pele etc you won't be saying Neymar imo
If he had the attitude of Firminho he would one of the best in the world easily.

PSG was a bad move for him. He needs to be at a club where he is not the superstar in my opinion. Which can only be two clubs, one of which he left.

In terms of footballing talent and ability he is at the highest level. He has the speed, the dribbling capability, the bag of tricks and the ability to make a decisive pass (if he's in the mood) . It's everything else about him that makes you wonder what's wrong with him. I've been following him since his Santos days and all the on-field and off-field antics are basically the same and have remain unchanged. It's a pity and a shame, but he's basically a player who plays for himself in a team sport.

Neynar should look to Ronaldo as a way to harness his talents. He too is incredibly arrogant but he backs it up with decisive moments and galvanises the Portugal players behind him. The tricks and flicks are less frequent but usually come out at the right moments, pains me to say but Ferguson helped Ronaldo cut most of that out making him the player he is, of course Ronaldo's hard work and application enabled this. I don't think Neymar has that level of sacrifice. I wouldn't be surprised it he was burnt out by the time he is 30!

That's a fair evaluation ed01. Did you see him in the refs face today, then the ref pushed him back and Neymar was all "don't touch me, you don't touch me" absolute d##k. Has been pampered into some weird creature. People like him struggle in later life when the truth kicks in. And if the truth is. You've been a self centred, prima Donna c##t then he will go through it, will he come out a coke head with a tiny penis? or will he turn it round and promote fair football for kids in the favellas, ya know dedicate his life to helping others in need. Somehow I'm leaning toward the former atm but you never know.

I hope he sorts his nut out coz he Is a slick footballer. I think he cares more about fame and individual success than he does about winning this wotld Cup. Which shows his ego is way bigger than his mind coz winning the world Cup is a sure way to leave a footballing legacy behind. That rainbow kick was cool though, nice thing to see live, in the world cup.

I think Russia will go far. I know they ain't played anyone yet but they have a national pride that dwarfs just about anything on the planet. A resilience. In a world cup where not many are shining yet, they are.

I'll go
1st brazil
2nd spain
3rd russia/ Croatia.

After seeing everyone now, it actually looks like England could do well.

{Ed001's Note - this is the problem with modern football, they pamper the 'stars' and make them think they can get away with anything. You only have to look at Messi's sulky chops attitude because nothing is going his way. True greats go and make things happen.}

Exactly ed01. I don't really like Ronaldo but I respect him as a pro and his performances in this world cup demand respect. Sad thing is Neymar will probably lift the cup and Ronaldo gets nothing, maybe golden boot.

I haven't seen it anywhere but who do you fancy for this world cup ed01, having seen everybody play.

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, despite him having played for Man Utd and the preening and posing, I actually like Ronaldo. He does so much for charity and none of it is about publicity like it seems with Messi. He refuses to get tattoos as it would mean he would not be able to donate blood. He has worked his backside off to an insane degree to achieve what he has and win awards, awards which he then has often donated to charity to be auctioned off. Hard not to respect the guy.

Difficult to look past Brazil if they get going, as they have the strength in depth to cope with the number of games and injuries etc. Also they are solid defensively. They just need to realise Jesus is not yet anywhere near the level of Bobby and Willian is too inconsistent to be a starter.}
