Ed01/ 033 how are you folks liking our midfield options even if Fekir doesn't happen? Are you worried at all that a total overhaul of the midfield might result in some disjointed performances?

{Ed0333's Note - in my humble opinion Waqas I cannot understand how a midfield with Fabinho, Ox and Keita in it can be disjointed. To be honest mate Im incredulous at how sub standard our midfield was last season.

All depends on how Klopp rotates them.
When the ox is back I think our strongest midfield will be fab Keita and the ox too but until he is back that won’t happen xD
Hendo will get plenty of games and Gini put in performances of his life towards the end of the season so deserves a lot of game time too.

Although I trust Klopp to pick the right players :)

Ed, don’t get me wrong I am super excited about how our midfield is shaping up on paper, I genuinely hope that quality is reflected on the pitch. Looking like Keita and Fabinho in a deeper role with Fekir in more advanced, and Fekir and ox can rotate with the front three as needed, Hendo, Milner and Gini adding depth.

If Fekir doesn’t happen Klopp will buy another ACM / playmaker. He wants to replace Coutinho.

I remember you saying we didn't have a strong enough midfield to win the ucl and you were right bruv, it was said way back early on, January perhaps. Salah's genius equaled it out but it was our midfield who couldn't get that ball down and play in the Madrid game, they beat us at our own game. Hendo and the boys could only play back or lob one forward. Okay Karius messed up and we did look better with salah on the pitch but Madrid had started to control that game before mo went off. Their midfield didn't break a sweat to be honest.

Our keeper = simply needs improving on

Defence = pretty exciting I think with two young and dynamic fbs and vvn dike (obvious class) and lovren is looking like a good partner ship.

Midfield = looking better already but still need 1/ 2 additions. The ox is class but he's out for a while, fab is great, Hendo is the best of the rest and that says it all really, I love Hendo but he's not anywhere near the level of Gerrard, Vieira, Keane or even matic, kante, de bruyne and dembele.

Spot on, Ed. Fab/ Hendo in the deep role, Keita in the B2B nd Ox ahead of him, will be a very good midfield indeed if Fekir does not sign but again, we don't know how he will come back from that knee injury he suffered vs Roma cos that looks like a nasty one. As also mentioned, it will depend on how Klopp rotates and who we are playing.

Prince Hendo, always comparing Hendo to Keane, SG, Vieira etc, is unfair to Hendo Knowing full well that they were of a diff. breed and a diff. generation. It is the same pathetic comparison we hear all the time that "Hendo is no Souness". What does that nonsense even mean? There is only ONE Souness, SG, Vieira etc so comparing them with Hendo is just a stick to beat him with and frankly, lacks any form of perspective.

The fact of the matter is that Klopp (who picks the team and knows all the players inside out) is not asking Hendo to be like any of those guys. We are asking him to be the best he can be within the system on and off the pitch and he is brilliant at that, hands down an the numbers show that we are better and win more games when he plays. As for the comparison with Matic or whoever. IMO, Matic is on his last legs and would not last 20 mins in the high octane style we play. Also, comparing him to Dembele and KDB is again, a non argument that I won't even get into. Kante is the only one I would pick cos well he's a better player and there is no shame in that cos AGAIN, there is only ONE Kante.
