What does Wilson need to do to get a look in.
Why are they mismanaging Woodburn and Brewster?
If there is no sure way into the team from the U23 why should the kids remain?

Wilson; To get a look in he needs to prove he is better than Mane, Firmino, Salah, Solanke, Ings, Sturridge, Origi, Chamberlain, Lallana or Woodburn.

Woodburn and Brewster aren't being mismanaged. Woodburn was captain of the u19s last season and star of the u23s. He's still a kid though and doesn't look ready physically.

As for Brewster, he has been injured and is now demanding first team chances and wages way before he is ready.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is proof that Klopp will happily give u21s a chance if they are good enough, physically ready, and have the right attitude. Nobody else has been convincing enough.

Trent, gomez, solanke. Even Woodburn, although he featured more a season ago than he did last season. We went straight out in the league Cup and had prem teams in fa Cup, I expect they would have had a look in there.

I'm not surprised Gerrard wants solanke, he is going to be a big player for 100% definite imo. Really needs a senior run. If dom does go then brewster should get a look in, I don't see that happening if solanke stays.

Who would you guys rather have, divok origi or ryam brewster?

When the rewards are so high it must be so tempting to stick to tried and tested forwards. Being rushed in too quick is sometimes fatal. Look at Owen, burnt out by 26 and was phenomenal at first.

Brewster is not even 18 and suffered a long term injury. How many 17 year old strikers are currently getting game time in a top European team?

Woodburn is also around 17/ 18 with stiff competition for places and an early exit from the league cup. He has plenty of time to breakthrough.

Wilson whilst talented did not show the required work rate defensively to force klopp to give him a crack. He’s had a good loan at Hull and will be assessed during pre season on whether he can useful.

No issues to be seen here.

Wilson and Chirivella will be given a chance in preseason, to see if they have progressed enough to challenge for a place. Woodburn is still very young, 3 years younger than those two, and is simply being managed until he is ready, which I am certain he will be at some point. Brewster should be in the same boat but sadly thinks he is better than the reserves team and needs to leave, a shame as I think he could fill the role left by Solanke and Ings this season.

Xpert, on the below post youve just said we need back up for the front 3, in this post you’re asking why Wilson and Woodburn aren’t getting a chance. I think you’ve answered your own question. Those 2 aren’t currenlty good enough to be back up. Nothing to do with mis management.

Wilson is better than 6 of the 10 you listed, MK. Whether he’ll get games before them is another matter.

To be fair, I don't even know why we are looking around the top European leagues for players. We should probably sign just proven Championship talent instead.

On a serious note, if Wilson didn't come through our youth system I bet people wouldn't be clamouring for us to sign him.

Don't get me wrong, I think he is decent prospect and would love for him to make it. But we need to be realistic here eh! I certainly don't think he has been mismanaged.

Very good point well made mrsox. We wouldn't be going crazy to sign him, we would be underwhelmed.
