Have searched a bit but things change. Do the Ed’s think that we can hang on to Milner for another season? Think we need his versatility- not to mention his work ethic. Does he still want first team assurances?
Would be gutted to lose him to be honest.

{Ed025's Note - hes been great kate, i expect with the new midfield influx that he will sit down with klopp to see where he stands before making up his mind on his future mate..

I would like to keep Milner as he can obviously play in midfield but also in emergencies cover left and right back. Fabinho and Keita are likely to be first choice central midfield pairing, which would leave Gini, Milner, Hendo, Ox all fighting for that spot so i assume somethings got to give and that might be Milner if he decides he wants first team footy. Out of those I would rather sell Gini and keep the others though.

Considering we spent a fair amount on gini how much will we lose if we sold him? And who would buy him? I think he can be a good sub because of the energy he has. He won't be starting 11 next season it's up to him if he wants to fight to get on the teamsheet.

Thanks Ed. He is a great professional. Think that we should keep him, 100%.

{Ed025's Note - he will never let you down kate and you never hear him complain if hes left out, the consummate professional for me mate..

In terms of performance for the year, Milner has been the outstanding player when compared with Wijnaldum. Milner has always been known for his stamina, the work rate and the dedication to the team to do whatever is necessary. But towards the end of the season he was routinely showing signs of tiring out after 2/ 3's of games. Whether it was because it was a long season for him or father time beginning to catch up on him, I don't know. But I'd be cautious about selling Wijnaldum in favor of keeping Milner. In an ideal World I'd like to keep both. It's always a plus to have seasoned warriors who've been in many battles. They know best what it takes to win.

Good bloke to have around the squad because of his professionalism and attitude. Not to mention his experience.

{Ed025's Note - very much so FMS..

I'd keep Gini all day over Milner and Henderson. He was our 2nd best player after Mane on Saturday, constantly winning the ball and looking to break forward.

That’s it Ed.
There aren’t many like it. Of course I want us to load the midfield with the next big thing but we need to keep a certain level of consistency.
ArAy, would be ideal to keep both but probably not likely. My heart and head says Milner but only my head says Gini- he could be displaced very quickly next season. Milner- if he’s there, we’re lucky.

Adam, one swallow doesn't a summer make, Gini upped his game for the last 4/ 5 games, prior to that he was ordinary / hiding for most of the season.

Really frustrating, because there's a player in there somewhere.

The problem I have with Gini is he can be terrific for 1-2 games in a row, then he turns into a ghost for other games and you forget he is even on the pitch.
His consistency is awful - although that can be improved as he has had a decent run of performing well at the end of the season.

But with milner, you know what you are getting which 100% every game. Whether it’s as a starter or as a sub. Truly professional performances.

I don’t see why we can’t keep both though, Gini can always be extra cover for CB as well as midfield and milner can pretty much cover any position that’s asked of him.

As we all know Klopp loves versatile players.
