Wow just want to say well done to everyone becoming positive in such a short amount of time, amazing what a exciting signing can do!

I am going to wade into the Karius debate. we all know what happened, and we are all upset about it. non other than Karius himself!

as the age old saying goes "yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift" you know what this means to me, if we buy a world class keeper or not whatever happens we are the Liverpool family!

next time Karius steps on the pitch instead of booing him or jeering him. how about we show what real family do to people who need support giving him the biggest cheer we can!

I think the main sad part of this whole debacle is that the rest of the world want to see us turn on him. they are jealous of the unity we have shown on the road to Kiev and how we came together. these guys want nothing more than for us to start turning on our players!

good or bad happy or sad i will sing for the family i love! ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ!

Viva liverpool!

Very well said made and I agree, Karius should get our support 100% if he plays for us again. He'll certainly get mine, always. He made a couple of horrendous mistakes and people went loopy over it because of how big the game was.

If VVD made 2 mistakes that game which led to goals, would everybody be saying how he should never be in a Liverpool shirt again? Nah, I don't think so. There's so many people who have always been against Karius and I don't quite understand that, sure we need him to do better, sure we could do with a world class keeper (as could every team) but he got us to Kiev with the rest of the team, for that he has my full support. Sometimes people make mistakes, it happens.

If he plays we should sing him a song. A bit tongue in cheek but how about this (to tune of ‘Swing Low’ obviously)

Swing Low, sweet Karius
Karius to carry us home!
He dropped the cup,
But watch him get back up,
Karius to carry us home!

Are you guys serious?
Have you thought this through?
We currently have a good team capable of challenging. However if Karius makes more mistakes that cost us games then I think that our super Stars are going to say f*ck this I'm off we then lose our game winners because we cosseted our game loser. Saturday was not Karius first offence. The team deserve an adequate keeper behind them. That's a keeper that does the simple things easily and occasionally pulls off great saves.

langland, your speaking out of your arse mate, show the man a bit of respect, after all he's been through he deserves that at least. He was part of the team who got us to the final with the most successful club in the CL era. Leave it out. People liek you are far too quick to point the finger at a couple of mistakes, sure he's made mistakes before, tell me what player hasn't?

Sorry Salah, I don’t want to thumb down your post because it is valid but Karius mistakes are not of the scale of he failed to track the run from midfield, or he shinned it over the bar. He threw the ball towards an attacking player who was 3 feet away. He was beaten all ends up by a shot from 40 yards that barely moved trajectory and don’t forget he almost spilled a shot from Kolarov from a similar distance but managed to fumble it over the bar. The scale of these errors is catastrophic, and although the two on Saturday could have been a consequence of a blow to the head, the Kolarov one was not. I remember a saying “he has got chocolate wrists” and this applies to him. Karius has pulled off some game saving saves, not too many, and he kept us in it before his mad few minutes on Saturday BUT if you could have a goalkeeper of the ability of De Gea/ Buffon/ Neuer for the start of next season, would you take it or would you insist that we back Karius?

Salah, I agree with most of what you say most of the time, and I have been one of the most vocal Karius fans in the last few weeks. I honestly thought he had done enough to warrant us not prioritising a GK in this window (not several posts I've made about him in the last couple of weeks alone) .

However (you knew it was coming! ), Saturday brought back an issue that I thought he had dealt with in the last few months - namely concentration. According to other reports about him in the last few years, that has been his achilles heel. He's got all of the attributes, all of the skills, but he just seems to lack mental toughness, concentration, call it what you will, but its those few inches between the ears.

Langland goes too far, playing Karius will not start a mass exodus of stars, but I can certainly see our defence losing a bit of confidence in him. Given the way we play, we need our back 5 unit (6 including Fabinho in some games) to have utmost faith in each other. Otherwise players are out of position trying to cover for know/ perceived deficiencies etc.

I posted yesterday that I don't think we'll see Karius in the Liverbird again. I just don't think that mentally, he'll get there. He needs a loan out to another league to get some confidence back. He may come back to us a stronger player, having added the mental attributes a top keeper needs to the physical attributes that he already has. Or he may not.

I will always support ever player who wears the shirt (even Charlie Adam! ), so all plans to cheer him, clap him, sing songs etc have my full backing, if he plays. I just don't think he will.

Should we write off a 24 year old who has at least 10 more years at the top of his game? of course not.

Do plenty of players make mistakes? Of course they do.

Did Karius deserve the backlash he got? Abso-fecking-lutely NOT! Abhorrent human beings who deserve to be shot.

Can every player handle the mental pressure of those situations that top, top teams (hopefully) go through in crunch games and key finals? No.

I hope Karius is a player who can learn the mental side of the game, I really do, as watching him at the end of the game was utterly heart wrenching. I fear that he may never get there. And that being the case, given the other crop of players we have coming through/ already at the club, I would much rather we capitalise on the quality of the squad that Klopp is assembling by adding the right sort of keeper between the sticks.

Just my humble view.

“A Harsh Lesson in Kiev” like the name btw!

I don’t think anyone is suggesting we don’t want a world class keeper! Not at all!

It’s more when if Karius plays for us we show him the support he needs. What good does it ever do to slate him on social media or at Anfield other than negativity!

I.

Karious is a confidence keeper. His improvement this year barring CL is noticeable. Unless we buy a world class keeper we should support him.

He has the potential to be top goal keeper. A lot of better judge of goal keepers than us rate him highly.

My fear is that final will haunt him and he maybe done now. If that was pl fixture it would be forgotten after a few weeks, in front of 400 million viewers. how do you recover from that.

Langland, Karius is an adequate keeper. If that is all we need we should stick with him.

But I disagree that is what we need. I think we need a top class keeper. Someone in the Buffon, Handanovic, Oblak, De Gea, Courtois, Lloris, Alisson, Neuer, Courtois, Ederson, Donarumma or Ter Stegen bracket. If we can't get one of the best, a sideways step is a pointless waste of money.

Karius has thrown away his second chance. That’s what he deserved a second chance now he’s shown he’s not good enough we need to replace him. Or do you want to end up like Arsenal? Loads of players everyone knows aren’t good enough just playing because were too loyal to them? I don’t hate Karius, I don’t dislike Karius, he’s done decent for half the season but then he made 2 howlers in the champions league final and gave the game to Madrid. Are you seriously telling me that after two games if he makes a howler everyone’s still going to be up hanging out of his arse? No. You get 2 chances a year to get rid of your worst players and replace them and we’re in one of those chances now if he plays next season and makes a mistake again then we will currently be stuck with migs or Ward in goal. Get rid now wish him well tell him he’ll never walk alone but good luck at your new club and off you go! Unless you’re all just looking to keep an excuse up the sleeve for not winning the league next year? If an offer comes for him he has to go it’s that simple. He can’t have a career here anymore imagine the media coverage next year. For his own sake he has to get away from it.

Very fair post that Zed and I can't disagree with you mate. At least you're being civil about the matter, it's people who tear Karius apart what annoys me, he doesn't deserve that. I'm all for constructive criticism and I agree with you on what you say about Karius, but some people just go far too far.

A Harsh Lesson in Kiev, of course I'd want a world class keeper mate, what team wouldn't? all I'm saying is, if we have Karius as number 1 next season we need to support him to the fullest.

I think all depends on Karius and how he responds in training and the games in the summer, under the eye of Klopp and the coaching staff. I trust Klopp to make the right decision. I've seen career defining moments in football games, where the player simply is never as good again or where it's the launch of better performances, throughout the career.

But I will agree also that Karius does seem to have a problem with concentration and mental toughness. Clearly, it's something that has to be addressed in depth. I have no idea if it can be solved or not.

After days of hate and abuse towards karius, I still don't believe a goalkeeper is a priority this summer. Maybe we can all do something different for a change and actually support one of our own.

Karius will always have problems with other teams fans singing about his Big mistakes, it's bad enough for Stevie G listening to the songs about
His famous slip and he doesn't play anymore just imagine Karius playing at Old Trafford etc .
I had my doubts about him when he played in the away game against Bournemouth
Last season he gave them the confidence to have a go at him and beat us.
I am all for supporting who ever plays for us but I am a realist, he won't bring any confidence to a game for his team mates and Fans but if the manager gambles on him we will have to get behind him and give our support.
