I’ve already posted about the final but I feel I still need more closure. I’m properly gutted still. I’m gutted that this club has bottled it on so many occasions over the last 12 years or so, but I’m not even sure what to make of those one. We didn’t have the squad depth, we didn’t have the experience, we didn’t have the current ballon do’r holder, we didn’t have the ability to bring an £85 million player off the bench.

It seems reasonable that we should of lost, but why does it hurt so much? I even predicted a 3-1 to Madrid before the game, so why do I find myself in a state of total numbness, disbelief and shock?

I feel this because I always said that if Madrid win, I at least want them to win convincingly. I wanted to come out of the game feeling we had been bested by the better team. I did not want to feel cheated, but that is exactly what I got. The injury to Salah, followed by the mistakes of Karius that cannot be attributed to anything other than unfortunate to have happened on the biggest stage of all, it just leaves me feeling like we didn’t even get a proper crack at it. I am still convinced Ramos knew what he was doing, and I am still convinced we would have won if Salah had stayed on the pitch. That’s why it really stings.

Egypt are taking Ramos to court seeking €1billion in compensation 😂 in the near impossible event they win the court battle, I hope we would have an open bus parade to celebrate 😂

Chin up AW. If you need something to smile about, just remember that the highlight of Man United, Arsenal and Spurs fans seasons was us only being the second best team in Europe 💪.

{Ed002's Note - You want to make Liverpool a laughing stock as well then?}

I thought the laughing face made it obvious, but for clarity Ed002, it was just a joke. It is the banter page after all! What Ramos did was out of order, but the only way to answer it is to win the whole thing next season 👍.

{Ed002's Note - And you think the fourth best team in England can do that?}

Ed 002, just to jog your memory, we were in the final 2 days ago so considering we got that far, why can’t we win it? This is yet another comment from you, along with all the others with the sole intention of getting a rise from the Liverpool fans, you’ve never got a positive opinion when it comes to liverpool.

It’s banter jk.

Edd 2 and myself certainly share some interesting points of view.

Why not Ed2 the fourth best team were only 45 minutes away on Saturday.

{Ed002's Note - Well you have just answered it - Liverpool were not good enough to win and they didn't win. You know that. The Liverpool fans will always have an outpouring of "we was robbed" and whine about it for days every time the side lose. It is always someone else's fault, the corrupt authorities, whatever. It is embarrassing but the way it is.}

Yes I do Ed002. It's the supporters job to believe in our players no matter what. Last I checked we all believed we COULD win it this year, a week ago.

With another season to strengthen and a full year of our new look defence getting more used to playing together, anything is possible. And if I or Anyone else doesn't believe that it CAN happen (not necessarily that it WILl), what is the point in any of this? Football, Liverpool, or even this site?

I'll always believe in reality, and the reality is that it is a possibility. It is a mantra that runs deeper than football. Without hopes and dreams, there is no point in living life in general.

An old friend of mine died of lung cancer despite never smoking and being as healthy as anyone I knew. I could never understand how he just got on with life like nothing was happening. Not much longer than a month before he died, he asked me a question; "Is the glass half full or half empty? " I said it was half full to which he replied; "No, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be"

The message I took from that, is that we are all in control of our emotions and it is up to us if we choose to let them consume us. Because somewhere in between the negative outlook and the positive outlook, is reality. It's best to live your life in that middle ground.

The positive outlook is to say we will win it next season. The negative outlook is to say we won't. The correct outlook is to accept that we can.

{Ed002's Note - You can have hopes and dreams and that is fine. But Liverpool were not good enough to win the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup nor the League Cup - and that has been the way of it for years. The team played well under Klopp for much of the season but were still rather inconsistent which is down to naivety, the lack of a game plan, no plan B, and the amateurism of upsetting Buvac and seeing the chairman of the club send the wrong message to the players on the day of a European Cup final. If Liverpool had of won that one game we would not have had cries to sack the goalkeeping coach, the abuse of the goalkeeper, Salah whimpering like a prepubescent schoolgirl nor the desire of the fans to replace pretty much the whole side - ironically excluding the player who has had his agent hawking him around the "big clubs" in Spain.

Liverpool have been moving in the right direction but they must still address off field issues and must give Keita a significant talking to and not put any arm around his shoulder to get the monkey off his back about being a complete and utter jerk. They have a DoF with limited knowledge of the game, the market, the contacts etc. required at that level - we will see how it goes. But overall they are improving.}

The fourth best team in England got further than the top three this season and could very well have won it. So Ed002 I see no reason why we can’t win it next season. Not saying we will but finishing fourth this season has no bearing at all on how we fare in next seasons champions league.

{Ed002's Note - You might want to read what was previously written.}

28 May 2018 16:45:11
Well. considering a team which finishd fifth did win it a few years ago. yea i believe we can ed.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of a team finishing fifth having ever won the Champions League but I will take your word for it.}

28 May 2018 17:13:44
Ed, to answer your question, I do think the 4th best team in England can win it. The 6th best team in England won it in 2012. I think it will be much harder to get this far next year, but who knows?

{Ed002's Note - I thinkl you will find the second best team in England won it in 2012. You do get that the Premier League is played for each season don't you?}

11.) 28 May 2018

Good discussion Ed. Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome, I enjoyed it as well.}

The 4th best team in England won it in 2005, not sure why everyone is getting touchy again I'm sure Ed 02 knows the favourites don't always get what they deserve in cup formats but I expect he has enjoyed giving out a few home truths in the last couple of days due to past indescretions.

{Ed002's Note - The relevance of which is?}

28 May 2018 18:36:19
Good right up that mk mate.
On the other hand ed02 has me in stitches, his replys are so funny yet so blunt what a character you are ed02.

14.) 28 May 2018
28 May 2018 18:55:11
Ed002 Mk said we should win the whole thing next year. By that I think he means the whole competition not a clean sweep at every trophy. This prompted your comment about the 4th best team in England etc.

{Ed002's Note - No it didn't.}

15.) 28 May 2018
28 May 2018 18:57:52
liverpool finished 5th in the league 2005. just to clarify.

{Ed002's Note - Great stuff, 13 years and they are up to 4th. Do we have enough data to predict when Liverpool will win the Champions League again if we extrapolate these statistics?}

16.) 28 May 2018
28 May 2018 19:00:12
The player who’s having his agent look for a deal in Spain? Who is that? Did I miss something?

{Ed002's Note - Salah - this has been going on for 6 months.}

17.) 28 May 2018
28 May 2018 19:24:42
"Salah whimpering like a prepubescent schoolgirl"
Is that necessary Ed002? He was injured! I know you have a lot more knowledge about football than all of us but sometimes your response is annoying.

{Ed002's Note - Feel free to be annoyed - it is a factual description of what happened.}

18.) 28 May 2018
28 May 2018 19:57:52
002 - in general, not particularly Salah, don’t agents always try to look out for moves, either try to invite a move (pull) or hear others out (push)? In this age, I would be very surprised if there are any players who would not have an eye out for moves elsewhere.

{Ed002's Note - No. Salah asked his agent to make enquiries with Real MAdrid. I have explained this since before Christmas.}

19.) 28 May 2018
28 May 2018 21:58:05
Ed002, I have noticed that you have mentioned Salah asking his agent to clarify interest from Spain more than once, just to play devils advocate Here, obviously he's had a superb season for us, and I would assume (but you would know more) that he would command a rather large fee. Would they be willing to pay that large fee after 1 great season, or perhaps hold a year to see if he can replicate it and prove he is the real deal?

{Ed002's Note - This has been going on since before Christmas and he had him talk with Barcelona. I understand the wages and image rights being requested were well beyond what any club would pay.}
