The worst thing about lastnight was seeing my 11 year old boys face. He was absolutely gutted, butthurt face with tears in his eyes and that got me, I had to hold it in! I wanted him to see us win the CL for the first time (for him) . We was both so excited before the game and then Salah got injured which put a downer on it all then the mistakes Karius made, it was a disaster for the lot of us.

Having said all of the above. We've moved forward and we've moved forward miles, who the hell would've expected us to get to THE Champions League final when we qualified last year? I certainly didn't, last 16 would've done me just fine. We exceeded expectations and continued to fight in the most difficult tournament in the world. I am so proud of the whole club.

Karius was part of the team to get us into the final. He buggered up big time but no player can be 100% every single game. These things happen.

What I've hated since the game is how people have literally torn him apart, not just fans I mean officials as well like they've never made a bloody mistake? leave it out. I see many people saying how his career is over at Liverpool, why? because he made two mistakes in a game of football? come off it. What if Salah made 2 mistakes what led to goals, would you be saying he should never play for us again?

I'll let you in on a secret, Karius is only a man, he's not super human, can you imagine been in his shoes right now? the fella will be distraught with his performance, that's enough for me. The poor lad will never forget tonight and will definately not forget all the comments all over the internet destroying who he is, some people are just been damn right nasty, that's a fella there who has feelings like you and I. There's constructive critisism and there's bullying. I seriously don't think many people realise how easy it is for a person to slip into depression and that's the problem in this world, too many incensitive bastards. Don't even get me started. That lad is just like us lot, wanting the best for the team. How would you feel seeing millions of comments wanting you out? destroying you etc etc, it'd mess with you, I hope he is strong enough to not let it get to him because the consquences could be damning.

Karius, get's my respect no matter what, he came in so suddenly and changed so much, I think many forget how bad Mignolet was lol every single week people was calling for him to be dropped and questioning why Klopp wouldn't drop him, we finally did, Karius overall has had a great time since coming in, tonight it wasn't his night.

So many of you going on about how we should go splash the cash on a top keeper, I agree, I'd love that, especially if it was Alisson but it's not going to happen and Karius will be our number one next season. We should get behind him, give him more time, I am more then willing to give him one more season.

Chill out, be proud of our team, be proud of our manager, be behind every single player who played tonight, they're all feeling pretty shitty right now there's no doubt about that! We're heading in the right direction, I think this season has proved that! If people can't see that then I'm sorry but you haven't a bloody clue. We've just hit an obstacle, a very harsh one but it happens, we move on, time to smash the league and whoever is in the CL next season!

Onwards and upwards, remember the good times of this great tournament, we turned many heads every team is afraid of playing us and so they should be! We are getting valuable reinforcements, watch us go next season :) good times ahead.

It's easy to be gutted about last night, I don't think there's a fan out there who isn't but we need to look to the positives.

YNWA.

Salah the sight of seeing Karius walk over to our fans on his own did not sit right with me and was painful to watch. He cost us the final and should be sold but I have a heart and that was not nice to see. Henderson as captain should have been there with him, as a leader you have to put your team ahead of your feelings. I remember Saurez crying after the Palace game and Toure consoling him and Gerrard was upset but spotted Saurez and went over to him and held him all the way off the field. It was a bad look for the team having Karius on his own, he made two massive mistakes and can't imagine what he must be feeling now, its going to take some serious sports psychologist, friends, family and probably that guy Tony Robbins himself to put Karius back together.

Unfortunately that's the nature of the internet. However those mistakes cost us on the biggest stage. Bad timing I guess
But we can't depend on him in goal to save us vital points or perform in the big games. Therefore he needs to go.

To be fair all the out field players were dealing with the turmoil of losing the biggest game of their careers. Danny Ward did approach him and tried to console him and Henderson said in the interview that they lose as team. We all know that our GK department need a world class keeper to take us further in our progression. let's hope we can get the best available.

Good post Salah.
I can’t see Karius being the number 1 next season. If he is he will be blamed by the media for every goal and they will use it as a way to get a Klopp. We’ll sign a new keeper, probably Butland.

I’ve seen it with lots of decent keepers, they’re like boxers.
Once a boxer gets badly knocked out, only the very very best recover to their previous highs. Once a keeper loses his confidence the same is true. Self doubt does a lot of damage to elite sportsmen and sportswomen 🤝.

That's fair enough Ron mate. I can't say your wrong with what you're saying. I just hope if we do go for another keeper it's somebody better than Butland. We deserve better, we've at the elite stage now in my opinion and Butland doesn't fit that bracket. If he does come, of course he gets my 100% support.
