I went to a Liverpool game at Anfield when I was about 11/ 12. We were playing Newcastle and Djimi Traore made an absolute howler of a mistake and we conceded.

Kid in front of me about the same age started booing loudly.

His dad turns to him and says "Oi, you never boo a Liverpool player. We are Liverpool, we are better than that. When you come to this stadium you suppler every player no matter what. "

I hope that this sentiment can be felt by all our players tonight. Some will need it more than other.

Very proud of the whole team for this season. Onwards and upwards. Genuinely excited for next season now.

He said "when he was about 11/ 12" meaning his own age, not "in season 11/ 12"

Pure class reddawn, my sentiments too. I'm absolutely gutted for them, for everyone. I hope you are okay ed01. Devastated.

{Ed001's Note - I am ok mate. Gutted but ok. We never expected to get that far, so we should never have expected anything from the game. It would have been great, like, but there you go.}
