I'm confident about us getting Ousmane Dembele done. Not Fekir though. I think Lyon are going to play hard ball and we will walk away. Klopp openly admitted interest in Dembele though, and Barcelona are trying to sell him to raise funds. It is a deal which suits all parties.

But we need a Fekir type player rather than Dembele type MK. don't get me wrong he is a good player but we need a AM player.

Dembele has had consecutive serious hamstring injuries, which given our experience with Owen and Sturridge should ring alarm bells. I suspect he’s made out of crisps. I reckon at £100m we’d do well to not get on board this one as it’s a lot to pay for a player with so much risk, notwithstanding his Balotelli like reputation.

Just saying I think it is likely lads. I'll let you debate the ins and outs of it.

Though I would add that Dembele can play anywhere in a 3 behind a striker (including centre attacking midfield), and his last two injuries were both thigh injuries according to official reports.

I think Klopp would get him on the right path.

As much as Lyon are hard to deal with this is usually to extort several more million than they would have otherwise got, especially if an English team are the ones buying. Saying that if you offer them enough money (what they want) they will sell.
So I say Fekir is a possibility if LFC don’t mind being ripped off.

Dembele is a bit of an odd one though, a loan with an option to buy would be the way to go for me, Barcelona want to sell though so that might be the crucial element as I would only buy him at a knock down price to what Barcelona payed.

Mikey, I'm just going by Aulas' comments. They Don't want to sell, and they believe he wants to stay. If he's correct and Fekir isn't pushing to leave, then Lyon can just dig their heels in and refuse to do business. They Don't like selling to English clubs.

I'm not saying it won't happen. Just that I 'm sceptical. It seems like it could rumble on and I think Premier League teams won't have time for drawn out sagas this summer. They'll just move on.

No interest in Dembele personally.
Look at his behaviour to move from BVB to Barcelona last summer, it's all too common place now if you ask me - if he had a good season or two with us, he'll force his way out to the next big transfer again without hesitation (PSG/ Real) .

I know people will say VVD did the same and that's fair enough to use that as an argument possibly, but he's not going anywhere for the foreseeable future IMO - we were the big club VVD wanted, Dembele would drop us like a hot rock to move to Barca/ Real/ Bayern/ PSG once his form picked up.

Virgil and Mane arevthe same Kev, and so is Keita. Attitudes can be managed. At least he doesn't randomly bite people!

On ability, Dembele is still one of the top 5 young attacking players in Europe for me. Mbappe, Asensio, Sane, Dybala and Dembele are my bets to be the best players of their generation, and I'd back Klopp to sort out whatever attitude issues Dembele has. He still managed 4 goals and 9 assists in just 1200 minutes of football last season. In my opinion, we are not in any position to be turning our noses up at one of the best players in Europe because he is a bit stroppy. Otherwise, we might as well get rid of Virgil, Keita and Mane!

It’s been said he’s a bit of an arse, but they said that about Mane, so that’s an irrelevance. What is relevant is the real prospect of lashing out £100+ on a dud who pulls a hammy every time he breaks anything bearing a sprint. That’s economic insanity.

Wasn’t Klopps ‘interest’ in jest in an interview.

Like I said before MK, he's not for me personally but I could well be wrong and respect your opinion of course.

No worries Kev. There is risk attached to him, but I think there is with every transfer.

I think we sill get them both with either lallana or milner making way. I know what you mean mk, about lyon owner, I reckon they are going to sdt a massive price 90 mil or sum in but we can't as f Ford to keep walking away from top players, we have to take the risk this summer. Didn't spend anywhere near the 200 mil that was reportedly our budget last summer, since then we've sold coutinio and bought Vvd. Go for it and sign both,

PH, I doubt we will be getting both Dembele and Fekir so I would pump the breaks on that if I were you cos like it or not, attack is not our issue and all we need is depth in wide areas and pauing 90m for depth, makes NO business nor football sense.

MK, Fekir has said that he is happy at Lyon BUT "No one signs a life contract at any club so we shall see". This means that he is interested in a move and we are the only ones interested for now and he seems keen to make the jump. I agree that Aulas is a true piece of work to do business with as he has fleeced quite a lot of English clubs in the past (Malouda, for example when he sold him to Chelsea) BUT if Fekir wants to leave, there is nothing Aulas can do about it. IMO, I think the deal will happen.

As for Dembele, Ed02 has said that they want all their money back for what they got him for cos not only is he injury prone, he is a complete piece of work on and off the pitch. For 90m? No way and I will believe it when I see it.

Dembele deal if it happens has to be a loan surely with the amount of money he would cost considering what Barcelona paid for him?

If that's the case its a pretty risk free chance to take, makes sense and leaves room in the kitty for other signings.

If its just straight up transfers we are talking about id forget dembele and buy bailey if it was possible. Spend the rest on a centre back.

As i've stated before in earlier posts bailey would be my number one target for the final third. Ill cry of he goes to city.

Fekir i had never even thought of until the rumours started but he would be quality all day long.

It is most likely crazy paper talk but figures quoted recently

Toby alderweirld 55 million
Leon bailey 55 million
Christian pulisic 40 million
Nabil fekir 60 million

210 million. that's the fantasy world that's having a party in my head right now.

Reality and likelyhood of players wanting to come kicks in and im thinking

Fekir
Keita
Dembele (loan)
And a centre back (someone to at the very least seriously push lovern for a place)

That would be a transfer window that hardly anyone could argue with.

Exciting times on the horizon no matter who comes in.

Klopp is building a bulldozer of a team. His system truely deserves another world class centre half though. I almost feel soory for him at times because his style is beautiful to watch and the thin line he treads at times he could get away with even more if there was another world class cb besid virgil who was also quality on the ball. (fantasy world again lol)

That not a massive dig at lovern who can be great when he is on it. just merely an observation.
