Hello eds or posters. This American has a question for you. When players wages are reported per week do they get that amount for the weeks during the season only or all 52 weeks of the year. Sorry if it's a dumb question. Sports here like NFL and NBA are reported by the players annual salary.

{Ed0333's Note - not a dumb question buddy. I can appreciate why you asked the question as I live in the states too and know some American sportspersons don’t get paid in the off season. Players here get paid for 52 weeks.

In a yearly salary I would guess. I mean, they aren't all down the cash point making sure their 100 grand is in on A Friday.

{Ed002's Note - Lower division sides traditionally paid players during the working season - and many years ago the was true of the top division so players would have summer jobs playing cricket, selling insurance etc.. Nowadays, players will be paid on a monthly basis (for the basic salary) but in the UK for some reason the wages tend to be quoted on a weekly basis - using largely made up numbers).}
