Regarding Tarkowski I am all for it and here is my superstitious reason Why.

I was playing a manager career on my release day copy of FIFA 13, with Oldham Athletic, and I built my team around him. Ended up about 5 seasons down the line, in an FA cup final and 3rd in the Premier League early in the 6th year, I decided to take the Liverpool job and rescue them from relegation by signing in January, yours truly, James Tarkowski to replace the middle aged Martin Skrtel. I took them from 16th to 4th. But here is where it gets good; the next season was the 18/ 19 season and I of course made Tarkowski my rock at the back even though he was rated 68 because he was still a beast (I mean I'd spent half a decade developing him) and I took Liverpool from 4th to winning the title! I subsequently won the league 2 more seasons on the spin before I had to return to Oldham to stop them from being relegated.

We just finished 4th lads and now we might sign Tarkowski! So next season, put your house on the Premiership docking in Liverpool! Tarkowski is going to bring it home for the next 3 years lads! Forget his actual ability, this has been written in the stars since about December 2012! 😂.

Not seen enough of Tarkowski to judge, but then, unless the CB's name is Alderweireld, I don't think any other CB can make me happy. Lol.
I believe it would be one of Dembele/ Fekir, not both.
Not seen enough of Ceballos, but he seems to be "rated". If Gundogan wasn't injured so much, I would say we should rival Inter Milan for him (assuming he leaves cos of Jorginho) .
Don't mind Butland, as long as he doesn't come in expecting to be handed a starting role.

In all seriousness realtofel, I think Tarkowski would be competition just to keep Lovren on his toes. He is certainly better than Matip who I'd assume will leave as Tarkowski is a right sided centre back and Klavan plays on the left.

As for Ceballos, he is a top talent. He'd phase Hendo out gradually over the next couple of seasons.

Butland, Ed001 has said would be back up. So that is fine.

As for Fekir and Dembele, why can't we sign both? We currently have Mane, Firmino, Salah, Ox and Solanke to fill 4 positions based on our Brighton system. Because Ings, Origi and Sturridge will all be available for sale.

So if we signed Dembele and Fekir that would give us 7 players for the "Fab 4" positions, with most likely Solanke and Dembele as the players fighting for a starting role as they are both still 20/ 21. Over a 60 game season, all 7 of them would get plenty of game time. Except Ox who probably won't play again until January/ February.

Man City have Sane, Sterling, Aguero, Jesus, B. Silva, D. Silva and Zinchenko all fighting over 4 positions in their team. We need that level of depth so that we can fight for the league and all 3 cups just like City have done. They will probably sell D. Silva, but knowing them they'll only go and sign Mahrez for £90m! We have to not only keep up, but also catch up!

I agree with you MK signing both Fekir/ Dembele. I would just be pleasantly surprised if we actually did.
Personally, I feel our attack will always be lethal. It's the other part of the team that we need to work on. I'm not saying Tarkowski isn't good enough, like I said, I haven't really seen him. However, I believe we need another high-class CB. I'm not writing Tarkowski off, I just hope he would be what we need if we do sign him.

MK. I can’t take what you have said as gospel mate.
Your telling us, you have time away from this site to do something else! Ha.

I'm not worried about our defence at all now realtofel.

In Karius' 19 Premier League games we conceded just 14 goals, and kept 10 clean sheets. Compare that to the 24 goals we conceded in Mignolet's 19 games and it is clear to see that our defence has basically been a scapegoat the whole time because of Mignolet.

We actually had one of the lowest shots conceded records in the league all season, but unfortunately everything just went straight through Mignolet. They only needed one on target to score. Karius actually makes saves though. It is weird to see because I hadn't seen a Liverpool keeper make a save since 2012.

If you project Karius' record across a full season, he would likely concede less than 30 goals and keep close to 20 Clean sheets.

I still am concerned though. 19 games isn't 38 games, plus games in Europe. Say 50 in a season.
Constantly rotating VVD's partner isn't good enough IMO. Think of Rio-Vidic, Puyol-Pique. Most cbs that perform at a high level do so while playing most games together.
Maybe I'm just unnecessarily worried, but for me, the key investments should be in defence.

True realtofel, but 13 goals in 12 Champions League games is pretty good too, considering the consistent quality of opposition; 8 games against Roma, City, Porto and Sevilla!

That's 25 goals in 31 games in total. Keep the faith mate. Klopp is gradually fixing all of our problems. We'll challenge next season. Count on it!

27 goals in 31 games*

Gazza, back in 2012 I was just 18 and only studying in college 4 days a week. Plenty of time to procrastinate and play FIFA!

FIFA 10 was my baby, 87red. I carried my mates to division 1 on pro clubs. Smashed my (then) best mate 4-0 in the first half as Galatasaray when he was Barca. He punched me and refused to play the second half and to this day has never spoken to me again. Inter Milan were my go to team online. I still remember my XI and formation. 4-3-1-2: Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Chivu, Zanetti, Snjeider, Stankovic, Pandev, Milito and Eto'o! Never lost a game in nearly 200 online ranked matches. In fact it was rare if I conceded!

I'm convinced that is why I failed 6th form. You are right though. I've been terrible every FIFA since then. Can't get past Professional difficulty. It's girls mate. They distract you from what is really important 😭.
